Current situation: If you look at the very dodgy map I have attached you will see the following: Black boxes represent houses (6 at the back, 3 at the front). The red area is a bus stop. The white area is the private road/street. No other exits are available apart from the two either side of the bus stop (including public footpaths) I have two issues: Our road is used quite a lot by cars turning round (mostly flipping taxis). They turn around by going behind the bus stop and turn back onto the main road. The other problem I have is non residents parking outside our houses, even though there is a sign stating Parking for Residents only. I contacted the local council to see what can be done. It appears that this road is a "Private Street" and as such people have right of way (not that they can go anywhere). These are my questions: 1:Can you get the classification changed from Private Street to Private road (this means people do not have right of way)? 2:Can one of the entrances be fenced off, this would discourage turning around? 3: What legal rights do the residents have to enforce resident only parking? The reason I am looking at this is the road is beginning to break up, with the residents responsible; I do not want to repair the road for others to use it. Thanks
