  1. That actually sounds pretty messy. These guys will be able to help you out no issues.
  2. I had virgin installed at my old house. I had to argue to have it done, as they said someone else had left an outstanding bill, and they would't install services until it was paid. After they installed it, I then got my bill and it was wrong, the customer services couldn't care less, so it took me weeks to sort it out. By which time I ended up moving.... The flat I was due to move into fell through however and we were left sharing a flat with my in-laws, which was fine, but they already had virgin. I called Virgin and explained the situation, they were fine with this, they said let them know when we move into a new flat that can handle virgin, and they will re-start the contact.... Now I was told that I had paid the bill in full, so imagine my surprise when one of the people that lived at my old address ring me and tell me that they couldn't get Virgin unless they paid MY bill.... I called Virgin and they claimed that another bill had been generated at my address after I had moved which I was liable for, so I had to pay out another months rental, and telephone charges.... OK...... Not the end of the world.... Then I moved into my new flat, I got the Virgin HD Recorder box, ot everything set up all shiny and new.... Hehe... Then I moved again downstairs to another flat (I live in a block of four)... They moved my services downstairs, they charged me two months upstairs, (a month and a month ahead), then recalculated the bill and charged me again a month and a month ahead, basically meaning I paid four months bills, when I should only have paid two. The guy on the phone took a payment from me after sorting the mess out, said that was it, and I didn't hear anything from virgin for two months, when I got a phone call saying they were cutting me off two weeks before I got paid for non payment of the bill... It turns out my april bill had not arrived and I wasn't in credit. I spoke to a manager who then was bloody rude, said they wouldn't extend the cut off date as their systems wouldn't allow it, and basically called me a liar over not recieving my letter, and a thief for having services I never paid for.... After a week I finally got through to someone who knew what they were doing and they extended my cut off date, and allowed me extra time to pay the bill. As well as an assurance the other manager would get in trouble, although I would never hear the outcome, so who knows what happened there! Anyway, I suppose the moral of my story is, virgin customer services is a little patchy, and you have to watch the way they print thier bills, but for actual service provision, they are head and shoulders above the rest.
  3. So I started to spread the good word about this site, and people have started to ask me questions that I couldn't possibly answer... So I have told them to sign up as this is probably the best site I have come across in at least three years! If not ever! One of my friends however doesn't have time to sort out his files till next week, so before he does I thought I would ask this question, and see if its worth him actually doing his files for here. He was declared bankrupt in 2005, and this was due to a series of loans, and credit cards, they kept giving and giving until he couldn't afford to pay them back, and after a while (25,000) he had to file for bankruptcy. Now I am wondering if he has the original credit agreements, and there is something wrong on them, can he claim he was missold the loans, and/or cards, and have the bankruptcy removed, or reversed? And if so how would he go about doing this? I've said if he has the original agreements, then to get them put up here, so people can rip them apart, and give an opinion, but as he works quite a few hours, I thought I would test the water first.
  4. Just wanted to say a big thank you so far for helping me with my issues!!!! I have managed to deal with issues on my account quickly, and almost to complete satisfaction, just one more little debt gremlin to go, and then by Feb 2010 I am completly debt free, the last problem however goes a little something like this... Welcome finance were approached by my debt management people who tried to negotiate a reduced payment with them. What Welcome did however was write off the original loan and re-start a new loan in my name without my knowledge... I never signed an agreement, nor was I privy to the fact they had set up a new loan. Since I didn't make payments to my debt plan they never recieved any money for this 'loan' and so defaulted that loan too. Is it me, or is this illegal to set up and take out a loan without my consent? And as they have written off the old loan, does that mean they can no longer ask for money for it?
  5. UPDATE... Welcome state I had an original loan agreement for 3560, after I went to a debt management company in 2005, they satisfied this loan, and then re-arranged a loan amount of 3460,00 and then defaulted this. They have no agreement from me that is signed for this new agreement. However I have spoken with the debt management company, and asked them to act on my behalf in the past, so does that make me liable for this new loan welome have created? Or have they written off the legal agreement, and created an unenforceable loan? They have told me to speak to the complience department, who can get the default notice taken off, or amended, but am I then risking having further action taken against me? I would write to them, but before I do I need to establish the facts properly, so I can make a solid case.
  6. Hi again! I had my file updated today, and it seems that a company has registered a default against my name for the SAME debt as HSBC, both go off the end of this year, BUT, it is the same debt... Also Welcome seem to have added another loan to my account... Am I right in saying the following steps are what I need to do: Write to them asking for a SAR... Then ask for the original loan agreement with my signiture, and if they cannot provide this, then basically the agreement is over with, and I can get them to remove it...
  7. Hi, Thanks for taking the time to read this! I recently applied for my credit report from Experian and was surprised to find the information on there was not quite how I remember things, and I was hoping you may be able to advise me a little. I took out a loan with HSBC, for 1,000 or so and then started to fall behind with payments. I couldn't hold down a job, and they just kept offering me more money to cover the debt I was running up... Being stupid, I took out another loan with Welcome Finance to cover my HSBC payments and set up a business, but just like with HSBC as soon as I ran into trouble paying back an amount I could never have afforded, they kept giving me more, and more money until I was totally out of my depth... I then went into hiding, I ignored letters as they were no longer throwing money at me, and I was not able to deal with thier constant threats of court etc... After years of moving around and racking up small debts everywhere I went, I finally got myself reasonably settled. I cannot afford to pay all my credators, but I am at least happy. (It has come to light that I may have been mentally ill when I took out these agreements as well by the way.) The credit report shows I have a default by HSBC for 3540,00 which is roughly the final amount I borrowed from them. This clears in Nov 09, so I am not too worried about it... BUT... The Welcome Finance loan which was also around 3540,00 in the end, says it is also a default, and although it claims it is satisfied, it was last amended in 2008, the default notice however was given in 2004, so which one is the six year timetable from? I suppose my question is, reading the above, can I get them to remove the default, and/or have it removed completly, I was ill, and the amount of money and cost to pay back was never within my price range, which they full well knew....
