  1. Oh you poor thing! I know it's so much easier when it's all under control. just a horrible feeling having it hanging over you isn't it? Thanks again, x
  2. Hi Boo, I am really touched by your kindness, thankyou. I have a pile of debts totalling around £10,000. They are all sorts, a loan, several credit cards, 2 catalogues and one to Tiscali. I am also trying to sort out 3 debts a friend of mine has, she has nervous problems and just can't sort them. I'm off to the CAB on tues to see abot the DRO, I meet all the criteria so here's hoping! I'll keep you posted. Thanks once again, what a great site xxxxxx:D
  3. Very many thanks for that piece of advice!!! Will only set up a standing order with them. To be completely honest I am so sick of all the paperwork I figured I'd rather just get the £1 payments underway and forget it until the next review. I'm caring for 2 family members and am so sick of it all I just can't cope with all the paperwork. I've just decided to apply for a debt relief order anyway so maybe I can skip setting this up anyway....... Thanks again x:)
  4. Many thanks BazookaBoo, I actually need their bank details as they're being a pain and won't set up the direct debit for token £1 just keep asking for financial statements (which they've had several times) I want to just go ahead and set it up so wondered if anyone had the account number and sortcode of their bank. Thanks
  5. Hi, does anyone have the bank details for Link Financial in Caerphilly? many thanks:)
  6. Thankyou very much both of you for finding the time to reply. I have been told there maybe a possibility I can start a DRO due to my situation and that the only criteria I don't meet is that of the car one. Apparently your car must be worth £1000 or less and mine is worth more so I'm going to sell it, buy another one worth that amount, pay my mum the rest as I owe it to her and then apply. Can anyone advise if they see a problem with any of that or have any general advice please? Thanks xxx
  7. Hi, could anyone please give me some general advice? Basically I am in debt by around £8000. I am a carer for both my husband and my mum and have been for some time now. I have a son who is in full time education aged 21, he will be going on from a 3 year college course to a 3 year uni course in september. I spend 90% of my time at my mum's home where she and my husband live and I care for them there. Our son lives in our housing association property and whilst he does work part time I meet most expenses such as bills because after giving what he can there is still a lot to fork out for. Each week I spend more than I have coming in (carers allowance and a bit of income support) And have been paying my debts off at a pound a month for between 1 and 5 years. I owe to 3 store cards, a loan from northern rock i defaulted on around 3 years ago and a catalogue. Whilst i am really grateful to be able to pay these debts off slowly i can see no end to it as my husband's illness is a mental one and long term and my mum although recovered from a serious illness is very frail and will need my help for good. Is there any chance I can get these debts written off? They weigh very heavily and whilst I realise I'm fortunate they're under control I get depressed about them a great deal. Any advice positive or negative would really be appreciated. Very many thanks, fizzylemons:)
