  1. I've spent months trying to clear my mountain of payday loans which was all my own doing, no-one forced me to apply for them. I should be clear in by the end of the year but i just feel so down about everything at the moment. Quickquid are still being a nightmare but thankfully they are banking the postal orders i am sending monthly for the arrangement they refused, even though they are taking about 4 weeks to clear as they're sent to the US apparently. Really could do without them writing to me with their name across the envelopes though. Especially as our Postie left the mail sticking out today so anyone that went past could see the Quickquid logo on the envelope The other company that was causing me so much stress have backed off after seeing from my payments (i sent them an extra few pounds last week which seemed to have caused a few chuckles but hey, it's an overpayment) that i am really trying to clear the debt quickly. I have wrecked my credit rating and am having to make excuses to family and friend as to why i can't go out to any parties/get-togethers because i have absolutely no spare money left each month. I have had an official warning at work thanks to Quickquid calling me 8 times in one day when the loan first defaulted I just wish i could have known when i started that first loan application nearly 18 months ago how much these loans would ruin my life and i would never have applied. If you're reading this and are considering applying for a payday loan, ask yourself if you are 100% you will clear the loan in full on the due date. If you can't, please stay away from them as it is so easy to get sucked into the spiral of the payday loan trap. L x
  2. Chez, can i ask how much you owe to Wonga ? I was able to set up an arrangement over 8 months if that helps at all.
  3. Hi, very shameful of me to admit this but i have the following payday loan company bank details. How would i go about sharing these in case they are of use for other forum members wanting to make payments Wonga Payday Express PDA WageDay Advance Uncle Buck Cash Genie 1monthloan 24/7 Moneybox Speed E Loans Thanks
  4. Thanks to the site team for changing my id. I can breathe again now If anyone has quoted me in the thread where it shows my old id, or has referred to me by my name, could you change this for me if that's not a cheeky request. I've made a formal complaint to the company today as i had another email this morning telling me legal action was now being taken to recover the debt. I added my FOS reference to the email and also copied them in. When i spoke to the FOS this morning, they also suggested i contact Consumer Direct so if anyone has any experience of doing this, i'd appreciate your advice Can't tell you how mich i am grateful for your support
  5. I can hand on heart say i'm not a troll but i must have been lucky with Wonga. I've been dealing with Alan in their collections team and haven't had any problems as long as i pay what was agreed on the day it's due. This was my biggest payday loan debt as well so i was shocked that i was able to set up an arrangement quite easily. Just to be on the safe side though, after reading these posts, i've checked i have a copy of the arrangement
  6. Thanks, i've just sent a message to the site team. The thing is, there's no need for them to negotiate as i should be able to clear the loan within 3 months. The 6 months was just a safety net really to make sure i could afford the repayments after a large (and very unexpected) drop in our household income It's my debt and i will happily pay what i owe. I just a shame that this company managed to make me feel like the **** of the earth. I really am grateful for all of your support. Thank you
  7. Hi, i didn't get a reference number, i'll give them a call back tomorrow to take a note of it. I phoned the company today to ask for something in writing/email incase the debt collector turns up at my door to prove i have an arrangement but was fobbed off repeatedly saying it's on their system and just tell the debt collectors to ring them to check. I haven't had a default letter and no correspondence from the DCA I don't know if it's just scare tactics but i'm fed up of being told the system is automated and they have no way of telling it that i am in an arrangement so the account doesn't need to be sent to the DCA
  8. Hi, thank you so much for the replies. The company is has a very, very similar name to a sub-prime credit card company As my CAG id makes it easy to identify me, please don't name the company in this thread as i'll worry myself silly about it. I only have the agreement verbally with the collections Manager but when i've spoken to other staff, they have confirmed the agreement is in place. They never respond to my emails and i have spent a fortune on my mobile (no landline at the moment) calling the 084* number to speak to them. On your advice, i spoke to the Financial Ombudsman today and the Lady was very helpful and advise me to carry on paying what was agreed and that they would write to the company regarding my complaint. They can't take payments from my card anymore and i'll continue to make the agreed payments by bank transfer. It's the debt recovery threat that's worrying me as i have my Sister-in-Law staying with us and i'd be so ashamed if a debt collector knocked on my door and she was home. All of the emails i am receiving from the company make no mention of the arrangement only the total balance (not taking into account my payments already made) and the charges/interest they have applied. Thanks again for your help
  9. I've stopped the card now and the bank have assured me no payments will get through.
  10. Thanks for the replies. I have spent so much time on the phone to this company but it's like talking to a brick wall. I don't think i have the energy to fight them anymore. i have paid of nearly £6k in payday loan debts and have kept things financially so tight over the last 9 months. I sold my car to clear many of the loans and have thankfully dealt with some other very understanding payday loan lenders who froze interest and charges without a problem. One even gave me a few months with the account frozen to clear some of the other loans and to then give them a call back after i was in a better financial position The company that i am having problems are just awful. How would i find out if they are regulated by the OFT ?
  11. Hi, after many months of trying to clear the ridiculous amount of debt i got myself into with payday loans, i am nearly there thankfully. Apologies in advance for the waffle I am having serious problems with one company, that i am on an agreed repayment arrangement with I won't name the company for now as they do check these boards but the problem i have is that despite coming to an agreement to repay the loan over 6 months, they continued to constantly debit my card taking even the odd £2 if it's in the account. To go onto this arrangement, i had to agree to pay £40 in charges and £150 in default interest to freeze the balance. It was agreed that i repay £120 a month, in month 1 this was paid on the due date by bank transfer as we had agreed. The next day, the company took various amounts from my bank account at around 3am. This was all the money i had left for the month. I called them only to be advised despite being in an arrangement, if their system found that it was able to debit any funds they were within their rights to take it as i obviously had money available (who needs food for the month eh !) I argued that i had an arrangement that i had kept to and it was to pay by bank transfer but they refused to take my card details off the system. 3 days later, my bank card fraud team called me as the company had been constantly trying to debit my card again. I have now cancelled the card which their system must have recognised this as on Friday, i received an email to say my account was being passed to a debt collection agency who will add further charges to the account and will visit me at home if neccesary to obtain settlement of the account. I called the payday loan company to ask why this was happening as i had paid over my arrangement thanks to them debiting everything i had left to be told it's an automated system they can't override and if anyone turns up at my house, tell them i'm in an arrangment and they'll send the account back to the payday loan company. I said that's not acceptable and was told basically tough. I really am at the end of my tether with this company. I understand i owe them but they were quick to agree the arrangement when i first contacted them and i haven't missed any payments. Any advice would be great. Thanks

    LisaW75 v Egg

Hi, i'd really be grateful if someone could have a look at my attached CCA from Egg. I also received pages and pages of terms and conditions that had been downloaded from the internet by the looks of them and printed on Egg headed paper. I opened the account in August 2003 and paid off the account in April 2004. The account shows on my credit file as settled in May 2004. I stupidly contacted Egg a few months after this and asked for the account to be re-opened and they sent me a new card. I can't recall if it was a different card number though. In 2007, i was advised that the credit facilities had been withdrawn and i could only repay the account to clear the balance each month. I have recently got into quite serious financial difficulties and offered Egg a full and final settlement of half of the outstanding balance but this was refused. Any help would be appreciated SKMBT_C45109111314510.pdf
  13. for the most phone calls in a day from Crapital One ? Yesterday, i had 17 calls starting at 9.05am and the last one was at 8:27pm last night I've set up a custom ring for all calls from them... it's called MUTE Oh how i love seeing that red LED flashing on my Blackberry and seeing that they have called yet again. Just to explain my situation. I have had a drop in income and am £560 per month worse off. I have cut back on everything and have negotiated with my creditors, to temporarily reduce my payments for a few months to give me some breathing space. Everyone else has agreed to this apart from Crapital One. They insisted on an income and expenditure form - sent, copies of bank statements, sent but my Hubby's info, i put a black line through as it's his income and expenditure not mine, payslips -sent. They refused to accept the statements and accused me of hiding something otherwise why would i have crossed through particular items. The running balance was still available to how they can suggest that is just plain daft. Anyway, i told them i'd continue paying £10 per week even though they wouldn't agree to it. It's 2/3 of my monthly minimum payment and i am hoping to be able to clear the arrears in the next few weeks as i have some money coming in that i am owed from work for some overtime i did. I am getting daily calls to my mobile from Crap One and on the odd occasion that i answer, am getting spoken to like a 3 year old. This is all after advising them that i have a heart problem that i take medication for (i sent them a photo of my medicine bottle with my name etc on it as proof) and it gets worse if i'm stressed but if anything, they call even more now. I've had the card since about 1998 so i am really tempted to send off for a copy of my agreement, especially as i closed the account around 2002 and then called them a few weeks later and re-opened it (no new agreement signed) and it had a different card and account number. It also showed on my credit file as a closed account and then a new one. Would appreciate some advice By the way, in the time i have typed this, i have had two calls from them !! Thanks Lisa
  14. Thanks for the reply I'm just stuck really as i can't afford to buy a laptop outright and am in the process of clearing my debts so a laptop on finance is a no-goer. If the new dongle doesn't work, i'll have to tell Vodafone it does and then save up to buy myself out of the contract as soon as possible.
  15. Hi, i've had Vodafone Mobile Broadband for a month now and have basically had no signal at all since. Vodafone have asked me to try another replacement dongle and if this doesn't work, they have offered to cancel the contract as they have broken their airtime agreement as they cannot provide a service. I've no problems with Vodafone's customer service, they've actually been really helpful... but i ordered the mobile broadband through The Link and when i contacted them today to let them know of the problems, i've been told if the contract is cancelled by Vodafone, i will have to return the laptop i got as part of the deal to The Link. I'm not at all happy with this as i've had all of the software i use for work added to the laptop and it's the general inconvenience of it all really. I have offered to sign up for a new mobile phone contract with The Link, at the same monthly cost as i was paying for the broadband and instead of one of the free gifts i could choose, i asked if it could be arranged that i keep the laptop instead but they won't allow it I also offered to continue paying the monthly line rental for the mobile broadband but that's not acceptable either, basically once the Vodafone contract is cancelled, the laptop goes back and that's it. Any advice? Thanks Lisa
