Hello, I hope I have posted this in the correct part, and please forgive me if I have not . I have an existing halifax loan, that I took out 5 years ago. I phoned up today to get an extension of my loan, and the lady asked me what it was for. I told the truth, and said that it was to pay for my UK residency. Anyhoo, she says "So you are not a UK resident?" I replied that no I am not. She then asked me if I was a resident when the loan was taken out, I replied no... then she tells me that I should never have been given the loan in the first place. Does this mean that I may be prosecuted? I thought that resident meant that I was living in the UK. I had no intention of leaving my debt, that is why I am still here... just wondering what might happen now? Thanks ccg
