  1. hello. i recently moved into a property and not long after, whilst i was at work, southern electric entered, changed my locks, gas and electric meters(to card and key) and put on a huge bill from a previous tenant and left no card or key. they wont let me change energy suppliers until i fax them a copy of my tennancy agreement (im a joiner/carpenter where,when, how i would/could use a fax machine is beyond me). the gas has ran out and after about 5 phone calls lasting ages, and being told things like "we'll get back to you", "we'll send someone out to top up your meter" nothing has been done, nobody has came out. ive just came off the phone from thier emergency helpline who told me that southern electric hasnt put a job on at all for this address and basically ill have to freeze, not wash, not cook until monday (assuming they get there act together then) but im at work and live alone so nobody can be in if/when they visit. if i did have the card id be forced into paying off the previous tenants debt. im freezing and furious. how can they get away with this? what can i do? thanks
