How much extra? I've worked out to slap my wrists would actually cost around £2.30, yet in the past I've been charged £38.00. Do you think I've got a case to re-claim excess and unfair wrist slapping charges?

Sorry Bookworm, I didn't realise there was a media forum. Consider my wrists duly slapped. Regards Colin

Just wondering if bank charges are proffitable for the banks, how come they're not subject to VAT regulations? ie, small businesses like me are able to claim back the VAT on purchases, how come I can't with charges??? Yet invoice discounting or factoring is subject to VAT. I'm wondering if this could help the case for re-claimers.Colin

As a newcomer to the forum, can I thank everyone here for taking the time to do this. Thanks You. I searched the forum for a few hours to try and find the situation for business accounts and thought this would be the best place to start. The reason it seems unclear to me regarding the position for reclaiming (business charges) are I stumbled across a few threads where the position appeared to have changed, particullarly a post in the template letters forum where it was posted in* big red letters* not to start claiming. It seems you guys may be onto a strategy, one which I don't understand therefore may be of little help, but if I can help please let me know. Kind Regards to you all Colin

Hello all, I only joined here yesterday, and may I say what a useful rescource this is. Thank You CAG. I'll soon be attempting to reclaim my bank charges from my business account with Lloyds. I know now (from reading here) that business charges don't come under UTTCR so aren't as affected by the test case as personal accounts. Ill post in the appropriate thread, but if someone reads this, can a brief detail be posted here of any possible dilemas I may come across?ThanksCol
