  1. Hi there, I am looking for some advice regardign a bailiff visit from the Marston group (formally Drakes group). After receiving a letter, i called them to dispute the charges (origionally from a PCN) and they said I need to write in. I did so and sent it recorded delivery. The bailiff cane and clamped my car (without knocking on my door first!) and demanded £500 - i said i sent in a letter, he showed me a copy of it in his hand and said, tough! they do not need to reply to it and i need to pay, otherwise the charges will increase in the next few mins. I asked to see a warrent and it was only for £200. The guy was dispicable and rude, and made me pay, using the threat of calling the tow truck. Is this legal? do they need to respond to letters? can they take possesion of my car prior to knocking on my door, just so that that can increase the penalty by £117.50? can they take more money then the warrant states? and finally, according to their scale of charges on their letter (only one I received) they should only charge me £300. not £500. How can i complain, and who to? THEY DID NOT EVEN REPLY TO MY LAST LETTER - IS THERE ANY POINT IN SENDING THEM ANOTHER??? THEY CAME IN AT 6.45AM - IS THIS LEGAL???? HELP!!!! THIS £500 IS MAKING A BIG DENT INTO MY POCKET!
