  1. Many thanks for the replies. Coniff - I understand that been sick does not put my life on hold, but this is what my employer makes me feel like, that I have no right to go outside my house or have any life at all, this I feel has help turn me into some sort of recluse as I now rarely go over the doorstep, which I no isn't good for me and is now a habit I need to get out of. Lillylou - Up until this happening I have never in my whole working life had a problem with any of my employers. I have never been made to feel like I do at this moment in time and its quite scary that the thought of seeing my boss (who I see as the problem) can send me into an absolute panic. It upsets me that I feel this way and can't do anything about it. I have no intentions of making any snap decisions but now have real doubts about returning to work. I know how vindictive my boss is and have no doubt that my life would be made even more miserable should I return to work, and I have no intentions at this moment in time of putting myself in that position. Like I said I do not feel ready to return to work at the moment, but hopefully one day will feel that I can begin to lead a full and normal life. Thanks again for your responses.
  2. Hi I have been on the sick for around 5 months with work related stress. I have had a couple of meetings with HR and they are aware of the problems I have. However I honestly cannot see me returning as I have no faith in my manager or the HR department. What I would like to know is can I begin to look for another job whilst I am on the sick? My present position is full time and that is another problem as I feel that when returning it would be best for me to have a part time role. While I am not ready to return to work just yet, I do not want to be on the sick forever and would hopefully like to return to work in the not too distant future. On the other hand do you think I would find it very difficult to find another role with my sickness record. Any advice would be very appreciated.
  3. Hi Don't know if this will be any help, but I am starting uni in Sept and have been looking at funding etc. We have been told that we need to do nothing regarding repaying any student as they are dealt with as a tax and are taken direct from you salary once you earn over £15K by inland revenue. Also told that the life of a student loan is 20 years and anything still owing after this time is automatically written off. Thanks
  4. Hi godpikachu I have PM'd you and many thanks for your help.
  5. Hi p cas I don't think at any point I have mentioned discrimination. Whilst I can understand were you are coming from, I am very apprehensive about posting my questions on here just in case anything gets back to my employer as I certainly don't want to make things any worse than they already are. However I will say that the dispute comes down to how I and another member of staff have both been treated differently and that my employer seems very reluctant to answer any of my questions relating to this. Many Thanks
  6. godpikachu many thanks for your quick reply. I think it may be a good idea to contact ACAS at least to make sure I don't do anything that may cause further problems for myself. I just wish they could see that the way they are skirting around the issues is actually causing me more stress and I feel that I'm actually fighting a losing battle and do wonder is it worth it. Many Thanks
  7. Hi Many thanks for the replies. I've already had 1 meeting and and was sent the minutes of the meeting which I have asked for a number of points to be amended as they were incorrect. I am still awaiting for the amended minutes, which do not appear to be very forthcoming. At the meeting I had asked the questions and I was asked to email them over and they would get back to me, they now appear to be avoiding answering the questions asked. Although everything seems to be done correctly as far as I can see it only seems to be when it suits them, when I pose a difficult question they seem to be very good at avoiding giving the answer. What I am wondering is would it be worth seeking some form of legal advice or should I let things carry on as they are, in the hope that this will be sorted. Many Thanks
  8. Hi I have been off work for around 2 months with work related stress. This I believe is down to problems with my line manager. I have done everything my employer has asked, attended Occupational health, who confirmed that the sickness was work related, and had meetings with HR and again with my Department Manager. The next step is a series of meetings with my direct line manager which I am happy to go along with, but I have asked for a series of questions to be answered which they continue to avoid. What I would like to know is am I within my right to have these questions answered before things go any further? I feel that they are avoiding the problem by not answering these questions. Any help and advise would be most appreciated.
  9. Hi I posted this in General and have been advised to post here. Hi Have received a formal demand letter today from the above, stating Pursuers Lowell Portfolio 1 ltd, Creditor T-Mobile (UK) ltd for the sum of £32.05. This is the first correspondence I have had, and I am 99% certain I did not owe any money when I terminated my contract with T Mobile about 5 years ago. If anyone can offer any advice on what I need to do next i'd really appreciated it. Many Thanks

  12. This was just a rough quote I was given my B Gas, I have a back boiler at the mo, so whole lot has to be removed as well as hot water tank etc and replace with new fire & combi which will be located in kitchen so cupboards have to be moved and they are also putting thermostats on each rad. Many thanks for taking the time to reply.
  13. Hi, around £4000, my current lender is BOS, is it worth a shot trying them as I thought I'd be wasting my time going to them? Thanks
  14. How do I find a good reputable broker, one that will act quite quickly as you can imagine I am quite desperate but don't want to run into the arms of some shark!! Thanks
  15. Thanks, but that seems a bit steep, may just try for the loan.
