I should add that, to the best of my knowledge I have never even received any kind of demand from the council itself in relation to this supposed debt. Just 2 x letters from 'Debt Managers Ltd', whcih I ignored assuming them to be chancer, followed by a letter from SCotCall.

Hello there folks. I have what appears to be a relatively common problem. I'm being pursued by two different debt recovery firms for a council tax debt relating to 1999. I absolutely, definitely do not owe the council in question CT for that period. What can I do about it?
