  1. Hi Palomino I went back to the CRA over a week ago about CLF, but they haven't replied to me in any way. Shall I chase them again? What would happen if I just ignored this? If I hadn't decided to check my credit report, I wouldn't have known anything about this - it was a complete shock!
  2. Well, I went back to the CRA, but this time I haven't heard a thing from them, so I will have to chase them up. People keep mentioning about "the debit owing" or "when you pay the amount outstanding", but I don't know anything about the debt or what is outstanding, so what do I have to pay! No-one has ever contacted me or told me about any of this - but then the debt is against my old address, so I wouldn't know, would I? I rang the court and all they can tell me is that Bryan Carter somehow proceeded and filed a CCJ against me, using my previous address, and one other company name which I've never heard of! If I had not looked for my credit report, I would have no knowledge of this and I'm kind of thinking perhaps I should just leave it alone, in case I've opened a can of worms!
  3. Earlier today I received these comments:- If Bryan Carter have obtained a CCJ you need to be careful. When they find out where you live they will be able to ask the court to send round the bailiff straight away. You can only ask the court for the debt to be set aside if you beleive it to be wrong, though you could ask the court for time to pay. There is no point in asking for a copy of the credit agreement now that they have judgement. Of course they could probably trace your address through Experian anyway, as they are clearly linked now. Just be prepared! Is this possible, as I have no knowledge of this incident and don't know where it has come from? I have contacted the CRA again about this, so will see what they say and I have yet to contact the Court for the second time, so will look further into this tomorrow.
  4. No, it was my own house and I sold it on to another couple. Shall I go back to the CRA and ask them to remove it the default from CLF? I did ask them to check on it and they asked me to contact CLF directly, but I certainly don't mind going back to them and asking them to clear the details.
  5. Hi forgottenone This is more or less just what I put in my letter to CLF. It was actually Experian who told me I should contact them. "I was checking my credit report recently, and saw a default notice bearing your company name. The default notice listed is to the value of £600, although the account is marked as now closed. I have no idea what this is! It shows my previous address, and a date of 19/05/2006. I have not lived there since the end of 2004 and have no knowledge of this whatsoever. Obviously I would like my credit report to be correct, so you can please let me know what this is about? Thank you." What do you think?
  6. Hi everyone Can you please help me with a default which I found on my credit report? It is listed under the name of C L Finance - over £600! I don't know what the heck this is or who C L Finance are. I contacted Experian who told me that CLF take on store card debts, but I don't have any. I think the default is dated 2006, under my previous address, but I haven't lived there for nearly four years. I wrote to C L Finance for details, a couple of weeks ago, but haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone know what I should do now, as it's quite a lot of money, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with me!
  7. Bryan Carter - Apparently they have stuck a CCJ on me, through Northampton Court. I didn't even know about this till I checked my file on Experian. Have no knowledge at all of what this is about, and it is showing against my previous address! I have to read up on this later. C L Finance - another amount mystery appearing on my credit file from God knows where! I have written to ask for information on this, but no reply from them yet!
  8. Can someone please help? Last week I was looking at my credit report on Experian, when my heart skipped a beat. There were two problems, but I'll just deal with one at the moment. I apparently have a CCJ against me. This was apparently registered at Northampton County Court, and lists Bryan Carter & Co for the payment address. The debit is shown as 247 pounds including court costs. I have absolutely no knowledge of this and am stunned that it appeared on my report. Also, the address shown is my old one and I haven't lived there for a few years. What do I do now? Should I just ring Bryan Carter and speak with them, or can I do something better as I certainly don't owe this money to anyone?
