I have one of these cards too. I am laso in the same rip-off boat with the extortionate interest being charged. One more rate hike and i will be in the unable to make the payments bracket. With the current credit squeeze obtaining a new card/loan may be tricky even for someone with a goodd credit rating. So we'll see what happens next month.

I hired a van to move house a while ago. I have used this company for both business and pleasure purposes in the past and was quite impressed by them. The last time i hired from them they charged me for fuel six weeks after i had returned the vehicle. I know everything was 100% correct with the car when i returned it so i rang to complain and they made me wait a week with no reply. I went to their office and saw the manager, who was quite flippant and couldn't really give a toss about the charge. I started calling three times a day at different times and would not accept being palmed off with excuses. Another week passed and still no joy, so i went there again. This time the area manager and someone senior to him was there aswell as the manager. I explained to the two visiting managers about my complaint. I was assured this would now be dealt with. Three days later i had a letter from the head office apologising for my treatment and a full refund and a free weekends car hire by way of a small compensation. I took this offer that weekend and we had a nice weekend away with the car. When i later hired a van i found out that the manager had been dismissed as my claim for "unauthorised" charges was not the only one.
