Hi I need help quick. About 3 months ago i had the bailiff round to collect a council tax dept but stuppidly i let him in and signed an order for him to reposess my car.The car still has 3 years hp outstanding on it. What i need to know is if he can still take the car as i also need it or my work. when he came round origanally he wanted me to pay £52 per week to pay off the dept but after a while it became difficult to make such a high payment every week,so i wrote a letter stating what i could afford but they they refused to accept this offer,but at no point have i refused to pay the dept. when i spoke to them on the phone he said he could come into my house with or without my permission.I explained that my house is rented fully furnished and therefore ha cannot take what i do not own.I also surgested that he sends the dept back to the council so i can arrange with tham to pay off the dept.

Thanks for the advice i thought about locking it my garrage or should i move it someware else like my parents house.

The bailif (jacobs) came round abou t 1 month ago to collect a council tax dept of £1188.Stupidly i let him in and he told me i had to make payments of £52 every 7 days.I told him this was out of the question as there was no way i could afford taht sort of amount every week.I asked if is possible for me to pay that amount per month,he said that was the minimum amount i cuold pay and the payments would be over 6 months and said i had to make a payment on that day of £200.This i told him was also imposible,my parrtner had to then go to the cash point and withdraw our last £50 as a payment.Before he left i had to sign an agrrement stating that if i did not keep up the payments he could come and repossess my car which still has 3 years outstaning fianance. Anyway i have not been able to keep up the payments of £52 per week as i told him and today i recived a letter saying, "If FULL payment is not recived within four days a bailiff will attend at your property for the purpose of collecting full payment or removing goods for sale at public auction,which will incur additional costs to you" What i would like to know is 1 Because i have let him into the house in the past,does that mean i have to let him in again 2 Because i signed a for relating to repossesion of my car can he take it even though it still has outstnding finance. I have written a letter to the bailiff firm saying that i am willing to pay the debt but cannot afford what they are asking and proposed to pay them £50 per month over 24 months. As i only have 4 days to sort this out a promt response would me most apreciated.

Around 2 months ago we had the bayliffs round.Unfortunatly we let them in which i now no was a bad idea.He told me that i had to pay £52 per week i told him that there was no way that i could afford to pay that much.He then said that was the minimum i had to pay and the longest time scale for this payment was 6 months. I have since made2 payments of £52 but i have recently lost my job and have not been able to make the payments.When he was here he took the details of my car and said if i did not keep up the payments he would take the car as payment for the dept.I payed £8000 for the car 2 years ago and it is still under finance.My outstanding dept for council tax is £1888.I recived a letter today saying i am in breach of the agreement and i have 4 days to pay the dept in full plus any costs incured or they will take the car.what rights do i have now.Please help.
