Hi hopefully someone can help me here with my question. I resigned from my job after 18 months and gave in writing the required 4 weeks notice. Due to a clause in my contract that says the company can make me take any accrued holidays as part of my notice period they have advised I will only receive 3 weeks pay. I am confused as I expected I would be paid 4 weeks notice plus my 5 days holidays making 5 weeks. Due to the clause I expected them to take one weeks pay off the final amount leaving me with 4 weeks pay not 3. Help please !

Yes I have a comment, ask them for a detailed account of their fees as I did. They went very quiet and I haven't heard from them since or paid them a penny

Hi Kermit, I agree you have every right to earn your income how you like. I have had my share of problems recently with a bailiffs and seeing as your in the business would it not be a good idea for you to get more involved and weed out the cowboys and protect your image? Without this site I would have probably been treated unfairly so the site is very useful.

It might help if less lies and intimidation went on. I have been at the hands of these so called professionals and believe me they guy concerned would have won no prizes for being honest. Luckily for me I stood up to the threats and did my home work and the tables are now turning! I do think people should pay their debts and there is a big difference between can't pay and won't pay but lets be fair here the system is open to abuse and needs to be fixed.

Hi yet another Sherforce customer (sic). I just want to add that its not all doom and gloom when this modern day dick turpin contacts you. I had a visit yesterday and to cut a long story short they have added £650 costs onto a writ for £825. I have been in contact today and refused to leave the matter until I received a promise of a full breakdown of their costs. Surprise was that they have already charged me for work they haven't done! I have quoted the Statutory Instrument 2004 regulations to them which seemed to shock them that I actually knew what I was talking about. Several people later I caught them out when they said they have levied goods when in fact the guy that visited didnt do bugger all but push a bit of paper through the door. Their defense was they have taken details of the car on the driveway. Good for them its my neighbours! It sickens me that they can use these tactics to try and scare me into paying when they know full well their powers are limited. What annoys me is how many people pay because of the threats!
