a telephone bill from 2004 £1000

thanks for the responses i dont have a bank acc nor any ills in my name ive never applyed for credit didnt get on with my neighours so they have no idea where i am and my name is different on the electoral role... can they trace through sposes? our old house was in my fiances name with the telephone ill in my name could they link the 2? its been 4 years now

if a debtor moves house how are they traced and what actions are taken when they are found to be at the new address

i left a phone bill before i moved from my old house 4 years ago it was for close to 1000 pounds can i go to jail for not paying it just leaving it and moving away? i have heard nothing from the company or debt collectors since moving efore i moved i got a letter saying your owe bt this sum etc but i ignored it i no what i did was imoral but im really frightened i'll end up in jail cause ive read that you can if they suspect fraud (no intention of paying the bill)
