  2. I was pretty sure that you could claim back number 2 as afterall it is a penalty for going overdrawn. Can someone confirm if thats the case cause if so bang goes my claim as thats what most of my charges are (i.e. for being overdrawn) EDIT - Taken from the FAQ
  3. You can claim back the last 6 years worth of charges. Your 1st step should be the FAQs but a quick answer is to download the DPA letter template and send that off so you can get your last 6 years worth of statements.
  4. Well after I had used the wrong template I realised that I am not claiming enough! I am just out the bank there and handed over 3 letters for various amounts totaling £1100. I had an interesting chat with the lady at customer services and she informed me that she will be sending these to head office as there is a dept there who deal with these sort of claims so hundreds of people must be trying to get their money back from RBOS. Fingers crossed it all works out as the RBOS are robbers without the mask! I will keep you all updated with my progress Thanks for all your help
  5. Thanks for the reply JMio It appears that I have mistakenly used a different template for my 1st letter. I sent them the following letter which was replied to above. I will stick to the templates from here in future. What letter should I send my local branch next? this one or this one? Sorry for the confusion and thanks for your help
  6. Hi there, I sent my 1st letter off to my local bank last week explaining that I want my charges refunded and I have received the letter below back. I was wondering if this is a standard letter (I know bits of it are but the bits I am unsure of I have highlited in bold. Can someone please have a look to see if this is a standard letter please as I am going to send in letter 2 tomorrow Can anyone shed some light for me as I think that this isnt a standard letter. The letter was sent by my local branch and not Tommy McLean etc at head office. Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi all, first post on here so be gentle with me please I have requested the last 6 years of statements from RBOS by telephone last week and the arrived at the weekend. I have calculated that between August 2000 - May 2006 the bank have charged me about £760 for referral charges for going over my overdraft. I have edited the second letter with my details but was wondering who I send the letter to? Do I send it to my local branch or do I send it to someone in this thread? Should I send it recorded delivery or does it not matter? I reside in Scotland and all charges relate to my account that I have had for over 16 years. Thanks in advance for any help offered.
