I was charged the standard 38GBP for not having sufficient money in my account to pay a cheque. I transferred money from another account, but because of the Bank Holiday weekend, this took a while to arrive. Meanwhile a further 38GBP was debited from my account, which then took me over my overdraft limit. As I understand it, the unpaid item charges are a lost cause, as they are my fault. However, with a student account am I right in thinking that I shouldn't be charged 28GBP at the end of the month for having insufficient funds to pay the second unpaid item charge?
