  1. Hi Guys I have a BT problem, advice would be very gratefully received. Ill try to keep this moan in some sort of order: I was an existing customer of BT. I paid my account for many years by Direct debit for phone and broadband, never a problem After eventually getting through to BT, on 23rd Jan-08 in order to Downgrade my phone from anytime calls to weekends and after 6pm only To upgrade my broadband to option 2. To order BT Vision After eventually getting through to the customer help line, I succesfully downgraded my phone package. I was then transferred to the broadband people who ordered me a hub and upgraded my account. I was then transferred to BT Vision where after a while I ordered a £4.50 pack (not sure what for but it was instead of the conection fee), and a setanta sports pack £9.99/month. I got a wideband arieal installer and got my home fitted for the arrival of the BT Vision box. On the 31st of January I received a telephone call at my home from a lady many hundreds of miles away to tell me she had: My BT Vision box My Viewing card & telephone number, on a letter with her name address Another letter, addressed to her with My bank account name, account number and sort code. Fortunately this was a very honest lady, who wasn’t best pleased for BT as she wasn’t even a customer! Her details + my bank details. Needless to say I was quite shocked as this is a violation of data protection. Who else has been sent these details? With ID fraud, fraud, bank account details etc in the forefront of the news each and every day I thought that would get an apology pretty quickly, together with my BT Vision equipment. I have written a secure email of complaint, a letter of complaint, phoned on many many ocassions always to be told it’s a BT Vision problem. I emailed the CEO (as if) and 'he' progressed things by emailing a BT Vision director & eventually I have had a customer services person looking into this for me. Today I spoke to him for the 3rdor 4th time and he is: Unable to ‘place the order’ against my account and he wil phone me ‘as soon as there is any news’ (that’s been going on for a week) Unable to offer ANY reasonable explanation why my account details have been exposed, and why I find myself fearfully phoneing companys to change my direct debits. My latest ploy was to phone the complaints complaints people but all the receptionist could do was transfer me back to the BTVision people. I have no idea how to progress this further. I am not the type to go overboards with my complaints, but I am getting really angry with BT now. The complacency with which they have dealt with the bank account details is quite frightening as we all know how security concious BT is when accessing account. Im trying to keep the length of this post to a minimum, but its such an inconvenience. Ive NO Vision Box, NO Vision order is in progress, and my bank account is exposed (I closed it). AAAArrrggggg:mad:. Im way way further behind than I was to begin with. I would be very grateful if anyone could help in any way. What Thanks!
