  1. Thanks for the advice, sent the letter in the morning so we shall see what they come back with. I do know that there is no chance that i have paid anything as I have done some working out and I think its been nearly 9 years since i last paid them. Great advice but will keep you informed what i get back next. cheers
  2. Hi Paul, Thanks for that, i assume that when i send them letter M they will come back with some more heavy weight tactics! I know is more than 6 years since I have had any acknowledgement with Barclays and at least 7 years since I gave them any payment! What will be the next step after this letter has been receivied by Lowell, I am hoping they wont just turn up on my doorstep!! As that is a major worry for me and my family. Look forward to receiving more helpful advice to what is the process next from them and me. Regards
  3. Hi, its been 7 years since i have made a payment or acknowledged the debt, does this help me? regards
  4. Hi, I am after a bit of advice please fromanyone who has had such wonderful experiences with Lowell Financial Limited. On reading alot of the threads that are around some give some great advice, so seem to do it differently. I have recently received letter and postcards from these people saying that they have called but we were not in, even tho the postman gave it to me at my door!! Also letters asking me to pay a bill that has been outstanding since 2000. My basic story is that when younger got my self into difficulty with Credit card companies and buried my head in the sand. Not great thing to do but I had no choice, as no money and didnt really want to go bankrupt! Can someone give me advice on how to reply to this company to explain that this debt is well over 7 years old and can they prove that this debt is mine, as the figure they are asking for is double what my credit limit was. I am assuming they use bully boy tatics and try to scaare you pay something or a least make contact with them. help please!!:?
  5. Hi TAU, Whoops sorry, thanks for the advice.
  6. Hi Everyone, I would first of all like to thank you for all this information and I am really pleased I researched before reply to Lowell letters. My situation like many got out hand as a youngster and was in debt with one or two card companies some 7 plus years ago. I have been receiving letters/ postcards (2nd class) stating that they want to visit, I should call them so they can assist with a repayment scheme and even to orgainse a vist from their meat heads!!! Firstly if i am reading this right then a debt which is over 6 years old they haven't really got a chance as this is more likley to be statute barred, or shortly getting to that stage. What should I do, as I dont have the money and dont really want them knocking on my door? Is the first letter that Shane states they best course of action firstly, then after ask for a CCA. I would really like some assistance if anyone could help me with this. thanks
