The Royal Bank of Scotland recently began charging me after changing the type of my account without telling me to a royalities account. As it was a school account with one £1 + interest in (something like £1.04 after 7 years!), it immediately went into OD, despite me being told I could not go into OD. So there are 2 issues - can I get my money back because of this, and can I go OD? Some unhelpful and rude person tried to explain the different between a facility and being OD - I asked for neither. In fact, I was told 'all charges, cheques and direct debits will bounce' since I didn't ask for an OD. Any help here? I didn't want my account changed to a Royalities account. They were trying to tell me 'you were notified', despite me telling them I received no such letter. Do they really think that I would read a letter telling me they are going to charge me and then ignore it? Help much appriciated.
