Hi Just looking for opinions. I booked a wedding venue with a deposit of £1200 in July this year, the date of the booking was October 2007. I've recently discovered I may be made redundant and decided to cancel the booking due to the financial uncertaintity that lies ahead. I cancelled the booking 9 weeks after initial deposit was made and gave them over a years notification. They have advised me that they are standing by the terms and conditions and refusing to refund any of the deposit. As you can imagine, I really don't want to lose this kind of money. Any advice? This has all been done in Scotland.
