  1. Hi to all, I am currently having problems with my Natwest loan and overdraft. I borrowed £17,300 from NatWest in April 08; APR is 10.1 % over 28 months. I also used my overdraft limit up to £7400 (max limit is £7500) few days ago. The APR is 17.73 %. I will be paying big interest every month I know. I have to make a loan repayment by the end of this month and I only have £100 overdraft limit left. I went to the bank to top up my loan to pay the overdraft back, but I was declined because I made 5-6 applications previously to top up my loan within 4 months. The bank manager said I made too many applications and should wait 6 months before I can try again. My credit score is not good either. It might be “fair”. Note: I only have a bank account with NatWest, and about to have a Natwest credit card within a week. I don't have any other bank account or credit card. Last week, before I used my overdraft, I applied for the NatWest credit card. They gave a limit of £1550. As a back up I applied for the credit card because I knew I was going to use the overdraft limit. I am thinking of using my Credit Card when it arrives to make my monthly loan repayment. Hopefully, I will receive the credit card before the end of this month. Can someone please offer advice about what I can do to reduce my payments? What credit cards I can apply for? Which companies would accept me with my fair credit score? To make my loan repayment what can I do with the Natwest credit card? Can I do balance transfer to my current account? Plus I need a loan of £6500 urgently on top of all this. Help
  2. Hi to all, I am currently in overdraft which is £2700. I have a loan to pay at end of each month which is deducted automatically, plus Direct debit of £14.86. I was wondering if you get charged for using your Direct Debit even If you have an agreed overdraft. on 30th June, I had an agreed overdraft of £2000. When the bank deducted the loan repayment I went into unauthorised charge by £84. Although, I increased the overdraft limit in July. Can anyone explain to me what these charges are on my statement. There is an interest charge and referral charge. I am specifically unhappy with this £40.95 charge? Currently, I have an agreed overdraft which is 17.1%. I don't understand why they charged me £40.95. I understand the interest charge but what's this £40.95 for? Do you think this a maintenance charge? Can someone explain it?
  3. He withdrew 20 pounds on three different days but he didn't know he would get charged 3 times. I am with natwest, they only charge once in a months as far I know. He didn't even know he could go overdrawn. He thought he can only withdraw whats there.
  4. Even If u did receive it you can appeal because if the machine doesn't work the PCN is not valid. How will the council know it wasn't working at the time? Basically every ticket purchase is recorded in the machine. If there is an usual time gap between ticket purchases then this could mean the machine is defective. Parking attendants by law have to check the machines before issuing a PCN. If they report a problem to base through the radio then your ticket should get cancelled. But always put a note in your car if there is a problem.
  5. Hi to all My brother just opened a bank account with Halifax 6 months ago. He doesn't have any overdraft limit. Basically, he went overdrawn last week. He received a letter saying he has to pay £28 on 31 august. He knew he went overdrawn and since my brother knew they were gonna charge him £28, he continued to withdraw £20 on three diffferent days (friday, sat, sun). Today he received a letter saying that he has to pay £35 for friday's withdrawal of £20, £35 for saturday's withdrawal of £20 £35 for sunday's withdrawal of £20 So he is getting charged three times. £35*3= £105 What the hell is this? My natwest bank only charges once if u exceed ur OD but Halifax charges everytime u make withdrawal!!!! plus £28= £133 for going overdrawn £58. He is getting Jobseekers allowance. This is the first time he went overdrawn. What can we do? This is a huge rip off.
  6. Thats whey did. I closed the old loan of 13500 and opened a new one worth 17.300. I paid the early redemption charge as well. I still don't understand this charge of 142. I wonder I could also claim the early redemption charge as well? It was around 300 quid i think.
  7. I topped up my previous loan of £13.500 to £17.300 to repay it over 28 months. The APR is 10.5%. it was 9.1, but because of my credit rating it jumped to 10.5%. My monthly repayment is £696.14 (it says 695.80 on the agreement) It is a personal loan account. Fixed rate. It says on the loan agreement total interest £2182.40. Total amount payable £19482. 696*28=19488 Where is the £142 coming from?
  8. Hi to all, I borrowed just over 17000 from NatWest to repay it back over 28 months. As I was checking my Loan account I kept seeing interest charges to my loan account every month. My repayment is £696 every month, but where did the £142 interest charge come from? Isn't the interest included in the £696 anyway? Is this normal? I will be totally shocked if this normal because every month after I pay £696 back, they charge £142 straight away. Can someone explain this to me?
  9. Natwest is the worst bank in Uk, I am very ashamed to be an account holder.
  10. its just absolutely scandolus, the OFT must do something urgently about these charges. Its unbelieable.
  11. Whats the difference between immediate settlement and asking for a settlement amount? Is it not the same thing? How do I explain it to customer service assistant. How do I claim back the £111? Is there a form? Yes, I had 2 weeks to cancel the loan but It has passed 2 weeks since I borrowed the money. Its in the third week. Even though I insisted I will pay the money back before my first installent is due, customer service assistant said I have to pay charges for the settlement because she said its been over 2 weeks. I dont understand why it costs me £111. Is this 2 months interest?
  12. Hello again, I went to my bank today to say that I have £2000 and I wanted to pay my loan back. First, I got my personal loan protector cancelled. I explained to the Customer service assistant that its been only 3 three weeks since I borrowed the money. She said I still have to pay charges of around £111 for taking out £2000. Even though I explained that I will pay £2000 before my first installment is due, she said I have to pay charges because its been over 2 weeks. Can anyone help me about this £111 charge? I think it too much.
  13. Hi, I need to get some advice about paying back my NatWest loan early. I borrowed £2000 from the bank. The Apr is 20% and I have to pay it back over 12 months. Monthlt payment is £202. Total payable is £2400. Basically I have found money from somewhere else to pay the £2000 back. The thing is it hasn't been 3 weeks since I borrowed the money and the first repayment date is not till 1st of december. How should I pay it back so that I pay the minimum amount possible. Another issue Also, as I was talking with the bank assistant about the loan he made me sign a contract which I learned 2 weeks later that my current account was switched to advantage gold. The bank assistant didn't tell me about charges and he said it is for transforming my account then normalising it again. Thanks for help in advance.
