  1. Yes I sent a CCA request Letter N, from the templates, what should I do now as they have not sent a copy of a signed Credit Agreement. When replying could you make it clear it's a reply to me, as I'm getting more confused now, sorry (I'm a newbie) tezzaa
  2. Hi, I have recently sent the CCA letter to Fredrickson International in respect of a debt of £6K plus allegedly owed to EGG Credit Card. What has dropped through my door is a telephone directory sized ream of credit card statements going from 2000-2008, but no copy of a signed Credit Card Agreement. The letter attached to the statements says: "We refer to you recent letter or telephone conversation with this office. Please find enclosed account documents, provided by our client, as requested. We hope that this clarifies matters and look forward to hearing from you with your proposals for the discharge of this account" I'm not sure of my next course of action, does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks in advance tezzaa
  3. I've sent off the CCA request letter, but I read on another thread not to sign it, just print my name. Unfortunately I signed it, is that going to be a problem. Also should I have sent it recorded? Many Thanks tezzaa

  5. I'll have to check how old the debt is, in the meantime I also have had an Egg CC debt taken over by Moorcroft DCA but I never received a letter of assignment. What should I do? They are already sending me letters threatening Litigation!! Regards tezzaa
  6. Hi, I received a letter of assignment from Halifax re a CC debt. The debt was assigned to Cabot Financial Services. In the first instance what should I do. I've already had a letter from Cabot saying I'm in arrears. Many thanks tezzaa
  7. If I were to take out a loan with Provident and it appears on my Credit file will this really have any adverse affect on my ability to get credit in future?
  8. Sorry to be so thick, but I thought all loans you take out are put on your credit files. What would be the problem for someone like Provident appearing on your credit file. Is it a big black mark? I ask because I may need to borrow £500 from Provident asap. Tezzaa
  9. Hi Slick, The short term secured loan would be coming through a different lender to the one I have my mortgage with. I will use the loan to pay off my arrears. Then I will have to wait 6 months before I can then get additional borrowing from my mortgage lender. So I wondered what kind of rebate I would get on early repayment of the secured loan. I will have to take out a 3 year loan so that the monthly payments are manageable, then pay it off in 6 months time when I have got additional borrowing from my mortgage lender. I did see some sort of online calculator that gave an estimate of the likely rebate, but can't find it now. I also read somewhere that it should be the capital borrowed less capital repaid plus about two months interest. Tezzaa
  10. Hi, I'm looking to borrow £1000 to buy a car as I need one for work. I've looked on the internet and had quotes. The problem is all the quotes have been from brokers that use Welcome Finance who seem to appear regularly on this forum. As I would rather not use Welcome Finance, could anyone suggest anyone else. My credit rating is pretty bad Thanks in Advance, Tezzaa
  11. Thanks Slick, Can anyone give me some advice on this please Tezzaa
  12. Hi, I'm in the unfortunate position of having to take out a secured loan, just for a couple of months so that I can clear my mortgage arrears and then apply for additional borrowing on my mortgage (although I am waiting to check I can in fact do that - I have been in arrears for roughly one year) Under the CCA roughly how much interest would I have to pay to pay the loan off early? Is it about two months interest? Any advice gratefully received Tezzaa
  13. Hi Scott, Thank you very much for your reply and the link to the info on S.A.R I will let you know how I get on. Thanks Again, Tezzaa
  14. Hi, I had a prospective job offer conditional upon the new employer receiving satisfactory references. I subsequently received a letter saying that I had not got the job because they had received an unsatisfactory reference from one of my former employers. I did have a personality clash with a previous manager at one of my former employers and would like to get a copy of the "unsatisfactory" reference as I believe it may not be "factual". I have done a bit of research on getting a copy under the Data Protection Act. It says that I will not be able to get a copy from the Employer that authored the reference but should be able to get a copy from the Prospective Employer. On the Information Commissioners Website it says "The Commissioner’s view is that, where the information from which a third party can be identified consists of an employment reference received by the employer it should normally be released to the worker unless the referee provides some compelling reason as to why it should be edited or not released at all. If, in other cases, the release of such information would breach a duty of onfidentiality owed by the employer to the third party, the information should only be released if its nature is such that it has had or is likely to have a significant adverse impact on the worker." As this "unsatisfactory" reference has prevented me from being offered the job, I am going to ask the prospective employer for a copy. I have two questions to ask the forum: 1) Do you think the prospective employer will give me a copy of the reference? 2) If they will not give me a copy, how would I go about using the Data Protection Act to get a copy? Any advice will be most gratefully received Tezzaa
