  1. Thanks for that, I guess thats about my best shop now
  2. because we didnt think for one second a Thompson travel agent would spint so many false truths
  3. So by that, I have no way to cancel a holiday 15 months away, that was IMHO Mis-sold ?
  4. Hey All On the 24th of July this year I booked a 14 night stay in Orlando with a Thompson Travel Agent, the lady told us that as there will be 3 adults and 2 kids she would do everything to get us in a suite (With seperate bedrooms) at the Econo Lodge on I-Drive. A few days passed and she said actually, she couldnt do that and we are all in one room, with 2 double beds and a fold away. We asked about an extra room to be told it would be £550 extra (if we booked 2 rooms at the start it would have been £200, but because we were almost assured a suite, we didnt see the need) We asked about the free shuttle to Disney and was told "Yes, you get a free shuttle to Disney World" so we went ahead and booked 5 x 14 day Daisney passes. When we got the paperwork it stated that the shuttle was no longer free and would cost us $15 PP per day ($1050) We spoke to the agent who assured us it was indeed free and would confirm it in writing (Although we booked with a Thompson Travel agent, it was booked with Jetsave) we have been chasing it every day (as the agent is local) and were told today by the manager that the shuttle to Disney WILL NOT be free to us as we are not booked with Thompson. We paid a £400 Deposit - if we cancel the Holiday as rebook with Thompson direct, online, we get 2 rooms and as its Thompson, we get the FREE Shuttle too. Does the consumer law of , you have a 14 day cooling off period apply to a Deposit for a Holiday ? because we have been told that dispite the holiday being booked just 7 days ago and not taking place for 14 months, that we will LOSE the Deposit, is this right ? We could hire a car, but at £300 (for the insurance) and then £150 for parking at Disney its an added expence that we dont really need, added to the room issue, its left a bitter taste and I cant help but feel its been "Mis-Sold" Is there any way I can get that Deposit back ? Thanks in advace.
  5. No problems, I did sound like an utter **** just hope Olly is as forgiving, Thanks again.
  6. Thanks and your right but hey thats me WR did sort of indicate the same point, Its cheaper for them not to pay as a lot wont appeal so the cost of the ones that do is offset by the ones who dont, Crazy eh. WR also mentioned that they will advise me of the whole picture once I have had my meeting at work so we all know where we stand fully and on a personal note I just want to say a MILLION thanks to you, You have been such a support to me, a ****ing light in the dark times, I can never thank you enough.
  7. Thanks you for that And your right I was harsh and Olly and Olly I am sorry, Please forgive me.
  8. No not at all The last thing I have is an attitude, But I felt like I was being talked down to just like my landlord spoke to me, As I said in my OP I know its damp I need help because my Wife and kids will suffer and I have many health problems myself, Just trying too hard maybe to show its not down to me and if I come across rude then its 101% unintentional.
  9. Sorry my last post incinuated I wanted to scroung and thats the last thing on mind my. Just to update the peeps that asked to be updated, I finally get my letter from DWP today, and Spoke to Welfair Rights (They told me to call them once it was in writing) They said "not a suprize, They are a joke" off the record of course, So I feel a little better now, Next hurdle, Work Wednesday next week, dredding it, Thanks all.
  10. First off, Thanks for your email, However at the risk of sounding rude I know what damp is, I have done research, I would not have spent money last year decorating aomeone elses house without making sure what I was treating. Also why do you say that "In many rented properties people don't ventilate " Is this something that only happens in rented houses, Saying that oh your a tennant so you dont ventelate or heat the place is just a little rude to be honest, Are you a landlord ? You sound just like mine did this morning.
  11. Morning all, I live in a private rented house, for 2 years inthe winter we have had damp, Last year we treated the inside walls and redecorated the house, This year its starting to come back strong as ever, Yesterday I informed the landloard of past issues and the new problem and asked for help, He said "ohhh it doesnt sound like dam, more like condensation, Ring me when it rains and I will take a look" Now we hant had any heating on nor has it been raining but the problem is here with us now, is he just fobbing us off? I have health issues, my wife has ashtam and we have 2 kids so its not ideal, any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks.
  12. Thanks for that Its a bit scary tho if I am Med Retired that Myself my wife and our 2 kids will somehow have to manage on just £80 a week, I have everything crossed I can fight it all the way though.
  13. Its my understanding you can not load or unload in a DBay.
  14. I used to work on PCN appeals, Parking in a DB is a auto ticket, You MAY get away with it via npas but to be fair as other has said and as a disabled badge holder myself I think you should pay it regardless of if there was "6 empty spaces" its like people who use the defence of well it was 9pm when they parking in a DB like Dbadge holders are not allowed out after dark.
  15. Sorry to heap this one up again but I just have so much running though my head after the rejection from DLA, I have a meeting with work on the 30th where im told (off the record) they want to put forward medical retirement, If that was to happen and I was unablr to work (To be fair I feel so shattered that for a while its not a bad idea anyway) what sort of help would we get? as I said we have 2 kids, wife looks after me and we live ina rented house, Just need to know what I am looking at in a worst case route.
  16. Afternoon all, Just to let you know ( as some of you asked for an upate) I have been informed by DWP that my DLA claim has been rejected on both mobility and care componants, I filled in my allication myself before finding out that I should get welfair rights to help, They said I can appeal but its just left me feeling like whats the point ? I cant walk upstairs without being in a lot of pain and sounding like I have run a marathon, The same comes from me shaving washing or showering, I cant cook for myself yet they say that I dont need the help that DLA would bring, Just feeling a bit helpless I suppose right now.
  17. I was assuming the same TBH and at the time it wasnt an issue so wasnt mentioned, Its hard enough to talk about it but when it wasnt causing an issue it would have been even harder, Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
  18. Good Morning all, I have today been advised that I have been sent a letter detailing how they wish to proceed once I get that I will let you all know, I have a meeting in 2 weeks (Im still off work as per doctors orders) I do have one thing thats bothering me, when I joined 6-7 years ago I underwent a medical now at the time I was fit etc but I didnt declare my eating disorder (ashamed to do so) Will that count againt me and what could they realistically do ? Thanks again for all your help.
  19. Afternoon all, Quick update for you all, Spoke to my employer who said that they are looking into what else can be offered to me, The medical consulation is now on hold until my return (another 1 or 2 weeks according to my doctor) Not spoke to DRC yet as now my work are chaging the story of what they are intent on doing, asked for it in writing from them before I move forward, Made application for DLA, They have contacted my doctor who has written to them (is that a good thing ?) and I will know pretty soon, Thanks for all your help and I will keep this updated once I know what direction we are going to be moving in.
  20. You know the thing is I dont actually see myself as disabled, Suppose it because of my age, Will contact DRC when I feel more human.
  21. Ok bare with me, Its not something im easy talking about. Basically no, It doesnt affect my day to day working life, However it is for sure a contributing factor in my diabeties, I have been reffered in the past to specialist unit's, The problem is that they required me to attend during working hours every other week and as you can see from previous posts that caused a problem, So in the end I only attended twice. If mt eating disorder was to be "cured" it would help my genral health but the main reason for my sickness have been related to either my Angina or Diabeties.
  22. Thats great advice, I was intent on returning to work on Monday but my Doctor on Friday said it wasnt a good idea so the meeting will now have to be delayed, This will enable me to get the advice you have pointed me in the direction of, My Absences relation to my diabeties have NEVER been treated any other way than the standard managing attendance policy as a result I have in the past had warnings once after having a hypo, 2 years ago or so I was sent to see a company nurse who said that I must be given time off for doctors appts etc however while not blocking apts they have made them a nightmare, EG saying that I need to try to avoid morning appts, If I had a appt at 2pm and finished at 4pm I would be told I must return to work but it takes around 30-45 mins in the docs and my doctors is 30 mins away (each way) So then questions are asked about me taking leave or changing the day etc, I am also forced to work shifts (this was not the case when I took the job nor is it in my contract, although they are trying to change my contact to make me work untill 8pm), Just feels like I have everything pushing against me at the moment.....
