  1. Hi CurlyB, I feel like I'm in a trap at present...wait 12 days plus 30 and hope they leave me alone, then they can start whenever they like al ovr again! I can't answer this one. From what I understand its a case of waiting the 12 days+2, then another 30. What if they do what they've done to Chalkitup and send a letter 2 weeks after promising to comply. Advice of the best sequence of action would be useful here. I have waited 12+2 ...nothing. I'm still paying them too. Shonk
  2. Hi Chalkitup, my understanding is that they commit a criminal offence if they don't supply within the 30 days but that they can enforce again if they send the CCA after this date. I have been advised by National Debtline to report them to OFT if they do not comply within the 30 days. NDL also advised me that I can stop paying and if CBS contact me tell them to put it in writing and that they are not allowed to chase me for payment until they provide the documents requested and that I will report them to OFT if they call me again. Don't discuss any further. Would have thought CBS would have sent the CCA within the time if they had it! Have you called National Debt line and run it past them? I found them very good. They are sending me a copy of the OFT guidelines for debt colection agencies and complainrts forms so this might be useful to you too if you don't have these. I intend to stop paying and write to them saying they refuse to negotiate, ignore my requests foir documentation and are in breach of the law. Until they comply I will send them no more money. (Put the money to one side each month as a back up if they suddenly produce a legal agreement, if not I'll have a nice lump sum to treat myself with!) I can't see any other way of doing this at present! At least I can watch my savings grow and hope I don't have to give it to the vultures!!! Shonk
  3. Thanks Van. The original creditor was Colonnial Finance. I sent a F&F settlement offer 7 weeks ago, This was before I found out about CCA on this site. They have ignored my offer which was made in the correct format (from National Debt Helpline). I did call them to ask for an answer 'yes; or 'no' but I was told that they are allowed to discuss my account with me and that manager will call me back. It doesn't hapen. That's why I'm getting so frustrated. Shonk
  4. Do I need to write to them and tell them I am not paying anything else because they are in default of my request?
  5. Starting a new thread because the other one has become messy! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CCA'd CBS Transcom who claim to be acting for Arrow. Arrow bought the debt from Chatham, who bought it from Colonnial Finance. All this goes beck to 1999. I've been paying them a reduced amount. Have asked them for a full statement of my account from 1999 to date...haven't received one. Waited 12+2...nothing. Since I CCA'd CBS Transcom they refuse to talk to me. I have phoned and been told they are not allowed to talk to me, but a manager will call me back....they don't! Before issuing the CCA query I had offered them a full and final settlement of £2000. (Total is £7700 according to them but probably more like £6000.) I have asked them to accept, or reject my offer which was made 7 weeks ago. They won't. Basically they won't negotiate, won't help me and keep fobbing me off. I am still making monthly payments. Getting no where fast. I don't want to just ignore them because it will all ust drag on and could come back on me at any time. Basically I want to negotiate a F&F settlement and get rid of them...as long as the debt is legally theirs to collect. How can I get them to move!! If they would just accept or refuse my offer at least I would know where I stand. They are refusing to negotiate at all. What now? Any clues? SHONK:confused:
  6. I want to find a way of settling this account. I'm quite willing to pay if they can prove that they own the debt, and I'm quite willing to give them a full and final settlement if they will negotiate with me. I'm not happy to just stop payment and ignore it because it could all start again in a few months time and its still hanging over my head. I just get so annoyed that they are ignoring me and fobbing me off with promises of sorting out a solution. Nothing happens. They just leave me hanging and whatever I say, they ignore. I do suffer from clinical depression and asthma and this is making me ill. They are aware of this because I had a major asthma attack while talking to one of their so called managers on the phone. How can I push them into giving me answers?
  7. Well, I've done the 12+2 as advised on this site and have received no CCA. Arrow: Transcom CBS have still refused to reply to my offer of full and final settlement. By the way, they did buy the debt from Chatham Finance who previously bought it from Colonnial Finance. It's been passed around since 1999. They seem to be ignoring me. I can get no information from them at all. Is it worth sending the full and final settlement offer again by recorded delivery and insisting that they reply within 7 days, or I will take it as a refusal to accept my offer of payment?
  8. Good advice I think! I'll just put the phone down next time and just wait until they default on CCA before I decide what to do next. Maybe I'll take the lead from you and have a drink or two. My head is buzzing with reading posts on here! Will post again when anything develops. Thanks, Shonk
  9. Just had a phone call from CBS Transcom, didn't take me through the identity check, just went straight into saying they are chasing the debt and have no record of me contacting them I told them I have a detailed record and to contact me by letter when they have their facts. I am getting really sick of this. I'm actually trying to find a way of paying this off, not trying to get out of it but they just aren't helping me, or even bothering to negotiate.
  10. Thanks oneofakind, yes I sent the request officially with £1 and quoted CCA, etc. I am still paying them £52 per month and interest is being added to my account. Is it wise to stop payin them? Shonk
  11. Arrow are chasing me for a debt of £7700 (that's their figure) via CBS Transcom. I wrote to Transcom offering a full and final of £2500 and explained my sitution. This was 6 weeks ago. I have phones Transcom twice and asked for an answer, yes, or no. They won't give me one, they just say they will call me back and don't. In the meantime I have requested a copy of he agreement, statement of account and proof that they own the debt. No reply. This was 14 days ago. Called Transcom, the person who answered the call said that all discussion on this acount must be through the manager. Transferred to the manager who promised to call me back...didn't. I'm really stuck here. I am willing to pay them if they will agree a reduced settlement figure but they won't give me any answers. I won't what's being covered up..why the silence. Help would be appreciated.
  12. Hi folks, I have been reading your forum for a while now and decided to join in. I have read a lot about Arrow and CBS Transcom on here and I am having a problem with them. I offered a lump sum to them in full and final settlement, that was a month ago. They haven't refused, or accepted it yet. I have called CBS Transcom who are debt collectors for Arrow and asked for a straight forward 'yes' or 'no' to my offer. I'm just getting fobbed off, no one will give me an answer. I'm still paying them my monthly agreed amount and they are still adding interest while I'm waiting. What can I do? Any ideas? Thanks, Shonk
