  1. Bookworm, I've just started my claim requesting statements for the last 6 years from Abbey national, everyone is tell me that Abbey is the worst for stalling. Can I continue ? and am I likely to lose the right to get my charges back due to this new ruling...giving the banks power to put on hold all claims.
  2. I have been informed ...not sure if this is correct ....that Abbey National and other banks have joined forced to appeal against repaying back charges to customer and have put on hold all claims that's being made now...Is this correct ?
  3. Dear Sir/Madam, With my first letter S.A.R....do I really have to include the information below: - Additionally, where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any member of your staff, or any other person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention, or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my banking business with you. If you are unable to supply this data because there has been no such manual intervention, then please be so kind as to confirm this in your response.

  7. Dear Sir/Madam, I'm about to send off a letter to Abbey National at Milton keynes requesting a copy of my statements for the last six years, 1. Do I have to send the £10 fee for this request now, or can I wait for the bank to inform me of the cost ? 2. Can the bank close my account to avoid paying back the unlawful bank charges ? 3 . I had a old account with Abbey which i believe is now closed, which may to have bank charges too, a total of about £950. Can the bank use the unlawful charges from my current saving/ debit card account to pay this account off, althought both accounts are different, different account numbers ?
