  1. Hi All I am thinking that this is enforcable, but would like a 2nd opinion fanks! removed by OP Many Thanks
  2. Thanks for that Peter, only problem I have is Dixons went t*ts up and a new company Evens Halshaw took over, so I think the only option I would have is to query it with the finance company GE? Regards pcdoc
  3. Hi guys thanks for the replies. Yes peter I did get it under S77/78 and those are the only 2 sheets provided. The £100 was the deposit I paid there wasn't any Part-Ex but I still don't know where the extra £383 came from added to the cash price. Should I contact GE and ask them or Link? Also (today) I've made a complaint via the Finance & leasing Assoc, because GE added an HPI entry against the car ie finance secured on the vin & vrm no's from the outset of the agreement, they agreed to remove it over 3 weeks ago and still it remains on the HPI register.
  4. Hi All it's been suggested that I post this here hope I am putting this in the correct section, sorry if I haven't. I also have a problem with the Total cash price, the car was priced at £7995 so I don't have a clue how the total cash price is £8378. I also assume that the interest is calculated on the Amount of loan ie £8278. Because I didn't really look at the copy that was given me, this is the first time I have seen this figure. Unfortunately I have no evidence that the car was £7995 only that my wife was with me. The reason I ask if this CCA is enforcable is after reading this site for sometime I thought that the signature box shbould be on the same page as all the figures etc and not on a separate page, I will, of course stand corrected on this if I am wrong. Furthermore I have only been sent pages 1 & 2 of 3. There is also an error on the agreement where the reg number for the car has been entered incorrectly ie a number is missing, but I assume that can be corrected. Any info would be appreciated http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee140/pcdoc69/CCApage1.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee140/pcdoc69/CCApage2.jpg Regards Pcdoc

  6. Just read this interesting to say the least Bank cuts overdraft penalty fees - Yahoo! News UK
  7. I suppose playing the drums and eating Cadbury's chocolate beats coprophogy anytime!:D:D
  8. edit: yeah what pat said, you should be paid in lieu of notice. I on the other hand need to stop lending out my brain lol
  9. Also the cheque was to pay arrears, if it didn't clear the arrears would stay so no need for card details Note to self: stop feeding the trolls
  10. Is all well and good ethic and I appreciate the poster was talking of 4 days, however if you have cancelled DD's and it's over a longer period and an originator decides that they will restart their DD and you are oblivious to this, as I was, I ended up with £70 of charges that was not of my doing and I had to pay them. All I can say is that nobody will look favourably on an institution that has profits in the billions each year that charges customers £30, £35+ for a failed direct debit when a £12 DD is due but the customer only has £10 in the account. Furthermore I will never be convinced that an automated letter inc electricity, paper, toner, envelope and postage costs come anywhere near £35.
  11. In the last few months I have had 3 letters/jiffy bags that were recorded delivery just posted through the door. In one of those was an item worth £15, now had I been that sort I could have ripped the internet firm off saying they had not been delivered, I didn't however, instead I honed them to say what had happened so they could complain. After reading this thread I think from now on when I send a Rec Del letter I'll tell the post office person the letter has something of value in it £10 -£15 and get that marked on the receipt just in case
  12. I bought a car in 2004 by way of a 'motor loan' ie unsecured I own the car from day one etc. Why then does it show up on an HPI check has having finance secured on it. I have a feeling they are being a little naughty here, sort of not wanting to use HP so you don't have VT rights but on the other hand even though I'm supposed to own the car and just owe GE money I don't as per the HPI check, hope that makes sense. I was wondering who, if Trading standards, consumer credit or OFT my have some clout if contacted them after I write a letter to GE. Any pointers would be appreciated. FYI: Apprently the agreement has been sold to Asset link. Regards Pcdoc
  13. Thanks guys for the replies. Although I hate to admit it I used to work for a debt collection agency years ago so I know a few of their tricks and a couple of months ago I setup a way to record any telephone conversations. I also mark any letters I receive with the date received and file them away. I'll use the template you suggest curlyben and send them a cheque for a "quidy" (wifey's word) and i'll let you know. Regards pcdoc
  14. Firtly Hi all. I have a query regarding our friends GE Capital. I got a car through them on a motor loan and had problems paying the full amount for a few months when I got made redundant last year. Anyway of course they wouldn't accept a reduced payment. I did get to a stage where I could start making teh full payments once again, until the end of june when my jobseekers ran out and our only income is what wife earns, I did write to them but no reply. Now I have received a letter from Asset link Capital saying the usual "GE has assigned the debt to them etc" and demanding payment on full. What has left me bewildered is that GE haven't sent me a default notice or any indication that they were about to do this and I felt sure that I should have at least been informed. If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful. In the mean time I will write a letter to Asset just to let them know I am not ignoring them and will be in touch regarding this matter. From what I have read they don't seem to like accepting reduced payments. Thanks Pcdoc
