I have received a Parkching Charge Notice from Parking Eye today stating that my vehicle reg.... entered B&Q Bury car park at 17:16:37 and departed at 19:35:02. the maximum parking is 2 hours and there are signs up to this effect - although I hadnt realised they said 2 hours. However, the car park is utilised by B&Q, Home Bargains, and Netto and I have a bank statement to show on that date I shopped at all 3 stores and in fact re shopped at B&Q who apparently own the car park. It amounts to me overstaying by roughly 19 mins.... even though I shopped in all three stores on the car park. (its like a mini shopping est). What do I do now? I had no ticket on the car and the car park does not have a ticket machine or anything - its a free car park, also there were plenty of spare spaces as it was nowhere near full. What do i do? Do I reply to this PCN ? Thanks for any help offered
  2. thank you straw dog..... when i went to the police station with my dad last night the guy on the desk said he couldnt say too much but the "car" had been involved in an "incident" and my dad asked if he meant a robbery or something and the police guy said he couldnt give information out except to say it was involved in something.... but if that was the case why had the police not been in touch before now....... apparently my registration on a car the same as mine has been coming up on cctv involved in this "incident" on 25th October in the early hours but nobody has contacted me before this NIP. I will send the NIP back with a covering letter and see what happens but it really does feel like everyone is out to get me and how the hell do you prove your innocence when nobody believes you - its like a bad nightmare or a film on tv!!!!!!!!
  3. I have received a notice of intention to prosecute for speeding - the problem is I have never been to the place where they say I have been speeding and at the time 8:13 and that date... I was in bed at a friends house.... I have rung up the number on the notice and have spoken with a really snotty woman who told me that i have to send in a shot of the back of my car and a side view of my car!!! I have asked for photographic evidence and was told that they cannot do that because of data protection, because I am saying its not my car.... This is a nightmare... someone has obviously used the same number plate on a similar make and model of car and is driving round willy nilly clocking up speeding tickets and im getting the notices.... The CTO will not do anything, I have been into and rung the Police and they say there is nothing they can do... what do we do now..... PLEASE HELP ME ASAP I AM DESPERATE!!!!
  4. Could someone please help. My sister has received a letter from Pastdue credit solutions asking her to contact them urgently about a "serious matter". She has rung them this morning and they are saying that she owes money to EON from a passed leaving bill at a previous property. This final bill was paid in full by the estate agency that she was renting with. She has rung the Estate Agency this morning and they say she does not owe anything....... The DCA are saying she owes £100 and yet her final bill was only for £20 when she left and this was paid in full.... She is in tears here, what does she need to do? Please help asap. Thanks
  5. Do you think i would be better to just send this back with not known at this address on it or would you open it? I am just bothered that if i dont send it back they will take that as meaning they have made contact and will continue, and once i have opened the letter then i cant un-open it, if you know what i mean...... I know that the RBS did chase my ex for a debt and then came after myself, I actually lost my prevous job of 10 yrs because the RBS put the debt with Turnbul Rutherford's who issued a summons to me via my work address and my previous employer was furious and sacked me..... This is relating to debts from 2001 I am thinking as I have never banked with RBS since my split with my ex and that was in 2001....... so surely whatever they are chasing after now would be expired as its longer than 6 years ago - or will they call the summons etc that they issued a couple of years back, as keeping the debt current. Turnbull Rutherford actually withdrew the summons and action from the Court because they had not lodged it correctly, you cannot lodge a domestic debt against a company address or company name (which is what they did)..... any help would be appreciated....
  6. I have just returned home to find an envelope behind the door addressed to my old married name from some 8 years ago (not been used since 2001, when divorced). I have not opened the envelope but it does have a return address as PO Box No 114, London E1 8HL I wondered if anyone had any idea what this address is? Any help would be gratefully received. I am going to write on the envelope "Not Known at this address, return to sender".. and put it back in the post. I did have a problem with old debts from my previous husband but thought they had all been sorted now, it looks like this could either be another one or one trying again because they cannot get anything out of my ex. Thanks

I have now received a letter dated 10 Aug from Advantis again - address to myself in my maiden name and my husband - it woudl appear that they have totally ignored my other letters to them saying i do not acknowledge the debt and this is as if it is a new letter. They say they have been instructed by their client blah blah blah that I have 10 days to contact them from the date of the letter or failure to do this will result in further action being taken...... so do i send the prove it letter again.... then get copies of the bills again ...... then send the I do not acknowledge this debt letter........ again.... or do i ignore and wait and see what i get next?????? help please...
  8. Thanks Foolishgirl It was not made through the bank i am pretty sure i paid cash at the post office with a giro thing off the bottom of the bill. I could kick myself now for not keeping the receipt that they give you at the PO. I am really really fed up and bloody annoyed. What is my next step? This happened not too long after me originally paying this and i explained to the utility company that i had paid it and the woman on the phone said she would sort it out for me. As i never heard anything else I presume she had done just that. Now I have received this....... Is there a letter or anything else I can send to Advantis saying no this is not my debt!!!! I do not owe this...
  9. I have sent the prove it letter to Advtanis relating to a bill from a former address, this bill is from when i left and i paid it but i do not have proof that i paid it. Advantis have now sent me copies of all the bills from the time that i lived at the address including the last bill and say that i owe this amount. As i am no longer with the same bank and have no paperwork from then as it was October 2003 what do i do now. I understand I cannot CCA a utility company but surely I do not have to pay a bill i have already paid??? Is there anything else I can do? or are these people able to just carry on every so many years asking for the same debt over and over again? PLEASE SOMEONE ADVISE ON WHAT TO DO NOW!!!!

Thanks I did send that letter back and I have received copies of all the bills from that property for 2002 - 2003 and it says that there is an outstanding amount - which I know we paid when we left. I am really fuming now because I obviously havent got the paperwork as its just short of six years ago and I wasnt expecting to have to keep paperwork that long - although I will be doing from now on....... so what do you suggest I do now????
  11. Thanks for that. I did send that letter and they sent me a letter saying that they would contact the Utility company and get copy bills which they have now sent to me. But the copy of the bills just proves that they have copy bills - I have paid these but unfortunately I do not have proof of this - surely these people cannot just go around asking people to keep paying for things over and over again. I also notice, after reading up on here, that this is coming up to six years in October this year - so I am suspecting that this company are trying their luck and knowing that it is so long since I paid it off they are hoping I will not have the receipts (which I dont) and are trying to frighten me into paying again. Is there somewhere that these lowlifes buy debts that are coming to the end of the six year life span????? and how did this end up on the list when I have paid it???? What do I do now? Is there a letter I can send that says "Not Me" "You got the wrong person" the letter is addressed to me in my maiden name and I am now remarried...... dont know if this helps.. thanks
  12. Hi i am in a bit of a pickleand wondered if anyone could give me some advice please. I have mentioned on here before about the company Advantis. They are seeking me to pay a bill for electricity which I know I have already paid. The point is I do not have any paperwork relating to this as it was October 2003 and I no longer bank at the same place and have no paperwork as I have moved a few time since then. Now I asked Advantis for copies of the bills but still stating I did not believe this to be my bill and that I did not accept any responsibility etc etc as advised on here. Now they have sent me bills relating to about 12 months - 2003 - 2003 and stating that the last bill is still outstanding. I know that I paid the last bill when I moved out. Now I know that I am going to struggle to prove this so wondered if I could CCA the company as I do not remember signing any paperwork for anything when I moved in and the supplier has changed names since the beginning of me living there. Hope this makes sense. I am just so annoyed that I am being chased for something I dont owe and that I know I have damn well paid in full!!!!!! If utility company's are covered by CCA who do I send the CCA to? Is it the DCA Advantis or is it the Utility Company named on the copy bills that Advantis have sent me? I do hope that someone can give me some advice. Thanks

  16. Hi I sent the Prove It Letter on 23.04.09 to Advtantis. I then had a letter from them dated 1 May 2009 stating that they confirmed they were pursuing the debt on behalf of their client for an address and gave dates, it also stated that they had requested a copy of the bill from their client and would pass this on as soon as possible. It also stated that if i believe that this outstanding balance is not owed I should provide copy documentation relating to the dates i occupied the property ie council tax bill for full billing period etc or letter from letting agent. It also asks me to ring them on a priority tel line. As i Have not received this copy bill or anything else I was waiting for them to send the copy bill, as yet nothing has arrived. I have now received a letter dated 6 July 2009, it says that their receords show that I have not responded to their previous letter requesting that i contact them and that if they do not hear from me within 14 days they will take action to recover the debt. What do I do now. I thought the owness was on them to prove that I owed this debt (which I dont believe I do) not the other way round. And why are they allowed to commence proceedings against me whilst ignoring my letters (prove it) and they said they would send copy bill which they havent. If anyone can help and tell me what to do next I would be most grateful. Thanks

Hi All I got a caller to the front door last night who wanted me to confirmed my name and address, he also asked if i minded speaking in front of my son and husband and that he had to ask me this for data protection purposes. I said i did not wish to discuss anything with anyone on my doorstep and that if anyone wanted to say anything to me they should put it in writing and post it to me and then I would deal with it as I found relevant. He wasnt abusive or nasty, however he did say that it was from an outstanding debt with BG and that it was for a significantly small sum and that if i did not deal with him it would be returned to BG and it would end up being a significantly high figure owed when all the expenses had been added on to it...... He did not make me aware of what company he was from, or his name or give me a card to say who had called. I did not sign anything, what he did say was that he was noting that i refused to discuss it with him and that I wanted returning to BG... (i didnt actually say that). I am now worried that because someone has been to my front door, they could come again but more heavy handed next time. I thought they were not allowed to do this. Also, when he had his book open i noticed that it said "Scotcall" in red on a card inside the book, so i presume this guy is from a company called Scotcall...... what do I do now? Can they go straight to Court and who the hell owns this so called debt? I am really confused, and I would be really really grateful if anyone could give me some advice asap please. thanks
  18. Can someone advise please? I am getting phone calls from Wescot on my mobile at different times of the day. I have told them I will be writing to them but they say I have to sort it out over the phone and they have the law on their side////// yeah right Anyway I do not see why I have to pay the full amount plus all their garbled expenses on top, when BG offered me a settlement figure in December 2008 but then because BG messed up my debit card payment I wouldnt pay over the phone and they said it was up to me. I spoke to BG last week and asked to pay the reduced amount but they have said the offer is now withdrawn and they also said I have to deal with Wescot not them. I cant pay BG online as it keeps coming up saying that this account does not support payment online....... I really do not want to deal with Wescot and I do not want to pay extra charges, being as I dont have much money in the first place. Sorry this is so long but I am getting upset and worked up now and dont know what to do. Thanks
  19. Hi I have just started to receive calls on my mobile from Wescott and they are not very nice people I can tell you. I have told them that I am not prepared to speak over the phone and to put it in writing and they have said that I have to speak to them it is the law!!! and which law is this then? I am not paying the extortionate amount they want. I have tried to speak with British gas to pay them the amount owing but they have said I have to deal with Wescot now. What would anyone suggest I do now? Thanks
  20. Hi Everyone I Left my previous address last year and owed some money to British gas for gas and electricity. I made agreement to pay and to cut a long story short they messed up the payment and deducted too much from my debit card so I stopped paying this was and asked for a giro/payment method through the post office. Nothing was forthcoming. I have had a letter in December 08 from Central Recoveries at British Gas saying if I paid it off within 14 days they would knock 30% off the balance. I wasnt able to take advantage of this offer then, and I did have a lot on my mind at the time as I was just coping with a newly diagnosed serious illness. Anyway. I have now received a letter from Nelson Guest & Partners today saying that they want the full amount within 7 days it states that I may consider this debt too small to warrant legal proceedings but they are firmly instructed to commence legal proceedings. And then all the guff about in event of judgement being obtained they shall seek fixed costs and fees together with stat interest. They say the sum owed currently is relatively small and they would reasonably advise me to settle this issue forthwith without further expense and cost to myself. I have just rung British Gas and after being passed around I got through to someone in Central Recoveries, I explained it all to him and that I could pay the discounted sum today but I didnt have the full amount, he said he would speak to a supervisor, I overheard his conversation and the "supervisor" said the offer was no longer valid but if he wanted to take it then it was up to him or he could send me to Wescot. Guess what he did!! yes said he couldnt do anything and I would have to ring Wescot now. I have no intention of ringing these people as I have read quite a lot on here about the pitfalls of ringing these people. What do I do now please???? I have just tried to make a payment online with British Gas but it is saying they are unable to support this account online and have given a telephone number to ring, which is the same one as the number I rang originally to pay when they messed up my payment. HELP!!! why is it so difficult to pay this bill?

I have just rummaged through my old paperwork and managed to find an old bill with my customer reference numbr on it - what do i do now? Go onto British Gas Web Site and then what do I do?   23. Hi No it has not gone to Court as far as I know. But i dont have any account numbers etc to pay it direct i was waiting for the BG people to send me the paperwork. I dont want to pay it over the phone like last time as they made a mistake and I ended up overdrawn and it took me ages to get straight again.
