  1. Son purchased contract mobile phone and returned it within the 14 day 'cooling off' period. He was told that he could not as phone was without box. He was then advised that he could return it by paying a £ 5.00 charge. Tried to return phone again and was advised that he had damaged it. Then sent undamaged phone to headquarters requesting cancellation of contract. This was being considered. Today, the phone was returned claiming that it has been sent outside the permitted period. The phone was sent recorded delivery within the correct period, however did not sign for the receipt of the phone. Regards
  2. Good for you. I would have done the same:) It's documented evidence of incompetence and far more. Regards Tanya
  3. Company Kent Car Finance refused to refund me when goods faulty from the onset. Shorncliffe Auto's 'repaired' the vehicle, claiming there was nothing I could do, ignoring oil leak and previous unspecified collisiltion. Had cavalier set on light and crime ignored as the vehicle was not insured, due to sale. Had Nova's rear screen smashed and was sent a victim support leaflet for counselling.
  4. Bought a people carrier, which was unroadworthy and dangerous. The company told me that I had checked the vehicle and thus were not responsible. Shoe shop claiming that daughter has 'misfit feet'. Dangerous and ill fitted bathroom, claimed qualified plumber felt he did a good job. Changing of gas meter, transco has no records and ripped off for thousands of units. Mattress causing injury to my son and company insisting on medical evidence. Solicitiors in many aspects: People carrier, no support from legal services, yet won case successfully on my own. Mattress, solicitor not helpful and rejected idea. Education , HSE and assault, most abysmal. Sound like opposing party, no support, but hinderance. Won cases sucessfully on my own. Debt collection agencies harrassment and policy holders agreeance. Regards
  5. As far as I know as a former post officer manager, all unsolicited mail, should be returned unopened, with 'UNSOLICITED MAIL' written across the package. There is no charge for this service and the company gets a clear message. In my experience with post office customers, including myself, there has never been any further communication from the company sending unsolicted mail. I have am still fairly unexperienced on this site and have a question regarding the same club, but not sure if I can post from here? Regards Inkerdink
  6. Dear Martin, Thank you for your welcome and indeed I am sure with the sites' help, I will be well equiped to get the bank charges back. With regards to having to move the link, have not quite ot my head around that, but will do. With kind regards Tanya
  7. Hi, I would propose you ask the Data Protection People for support, as you are entiled to your records (statements). They give useful advice and intervene, if non conformaty is apparent. Regards Tanya
  8. Hope I am in the right section and just wanting to let everyone know that I am most pleased to have found this site. I have won 2 court cases this year, one against a finance company, whom financed a dangerous and unroadworthy vehicle, the other against the LA (Local Authority). I consider myself as a consumer as a parent of a child of school age. Bullying tactics amounted to astronomical levels and I would advise anyone to keep their chin up, be calm, informed, keep records and be ready Both cases have been fought without any support, which has been rewarding, especially financially, but nevertheless exhausting. Now that I have more time on my hands I am determined to claim back my bank charges etc. and will welcome support and info. With regard to donations, I am uncertain if the Consumer Action Group is a charity. A charity could accumulate funds through: ***edited*** which is an internet search engine with a big difference, it donates half its revenue to charity. Ebay also has facilities for charitable donations. I am most certain that many consumers would like to hear of you and join the group. All the best and with kind regards Tanya
