  1. I've been reading success stories - good for the soul - and noticed that some people are getting cheques from crap 1 and others get refund to thier accounts. I'm just in the middle of a refund, they're at the stage of offering me the difference between £12 & £20/-, but they've credited that to my account. As it wasn't for the full amount i'm writing to them again to demand the rest. I'm confused though as to how some people will get a cheque and others a credit to account, do you have to specify you want it as a cheques - i could do with the spare cash:confused:
  2. write a letter of complaint to the customer services dept. explain what has happened and enclose a copy of the proof the bank sent you. Ask for the charges to be refunded, the default info to be recalled from the c/reference agencies and ask for compensation. You can also contact the c/reference agencies to ammend incorrect info about you. If that gets you nowhere contact the FSA
  3. Hi Don't sign anything. It sounds to me like they are asking you to agree to further charges being legit. Your contract ( the agreement you signed on opening your B/account) will have terms in it which says fees/charges whatever they call them will be imposed if eg you go overdrawn. This is what we are all contesting. By signing that solicitors letter you will be agreeing to any future charges they may wish to impose...and therefore wouldn't be able to claim back ever again...as per the contract. Say no, demand your payment and refer the letter to the OFT
  4. Hi thanks for that, it was my credit card balance i was referring to.
  5. Hi hello, I just joined and hope to make some friends along the way and give/receive help. This site is really useful 'cause i've just found the answer to one of my queries - now that's what i call service - maybe we should tell the banks how its done. Does anyone know whether repaid charges will be taken off existing debts or paid directly back to you
