ive been doing my course for about 2 years and recently moved to Cornwall, I was aware at the time that this was a possibility and asked the company woul there be any local places I could sit exams, before I signed up they told me that my local college or university would let me do them there, however it now transpires that they meant to say 'local colleges in only 6 locations'. My local one is now London, 300+ miles away and i dont drive. They have argued I should have read the handbook, but they had told me my local college would lt me do my exams so i didnt bother, why would i need to check it out if they told me my local 1 would do it!? im tied in for 5 years and paying £174 a month in a couse I cant do because its too far to travel and after the £50 per exam fee, Im expected to pay for accom and travel!! Ive put in a complaint, theyve denied it but offered to contact local colleges on my behalf to see if theyl fit me in. is this an admission of guilt or just facilitating me? on top of the missold contract, they have messed up my exams - put me in an exam room in their head office, that had no heating and outside the office where all the staff seemed to congregate to discuss weekend plans, it was so noisy the vigilator had to leave the room 7 times to ask for quiet. -recently they signed me up for a coursework exam and on the day the exam was due to start I had to ring to find out where my coursework questions were, they told me they had changed the exam and it was now an unseen paper in london!!! I have been reasonable but suggesting they find a closer location (in line with the customer advisor who signed me up), subsidise my travelling expenses or release me from the contract. its taken 45 days so far for the girl whos dealing with my complaint to do anything but now shes refusing to answer my mail, Ive advised her I will issue wourt papers in 28 days, but I need to know what will happen can i push to get released from the contract?can i refuse the local college and will i get my money back? many thanks christina
