  1. Thankyou, I will start a new thread on this. Not sure how this site wrks yet as only been on a couple of times.
  2. Hi, I am just wondering how you got on? I am in the same boat as you, have just posted my thread on probably the wrong page but am here now, so here goes. I am disabled with MS. I have my disability benefits paid direct to my bank. Yesterday I realised that I would not have enought money this month to repay wonga. It was too late to do anything about it last night, so i thought i could sort it out today. My benefits were paid to my bank account last night and before i had a chance to try to sort anything out, Wonga took every penny out of my bank account, even went in to my overdraft facility , which I never usualy use. They even sent me an email to tell me that they would be attempting to take £95 plus £10 administration charge plus accruing interest on 1st Feb which is this sunday. They have also now left me in debt to my bank for £119, which just now makes the matter worse. I do not get any more money now untill 28th Feb, so they have really left me high and dry. I can only assume that when they could not get the £655 they should have got pais, they must have just kept trying different amounts untill they had obtained all that the bank would allow. I am in a state now. good advise would be usefull. Should I now say my debit card is lost to my bank to prevent them trying again and write to them to offer to pay the £95 next month. Does any one think this would be acceptable to them.
  3. Hi, I had a loan from wonga and got in the same situation as many, paid back then had to re borrow as it kept on leaving me short. Had a problem this month and did not have enough in bank to repay them. I only realised it yesterday so never had time to contact them. I am dissabled so my benefits are paid straight in to my bank account. Got a shock today, went ot check my bank account to find it EMPTY and in the red. Wonga had got there first thing and taken all of my money, even gone up to my overdraft limit. I also had email from them telling me that they are going to try to take the remaining £95 plus interest plus fee's on 1st Feb. They have left me with NO money for the next month!!! What do I do, I am pulling my hair out with worry. I can not get any more money until the end of next month. Are they going to just go and take it all from me again then. HELP!!!!
  4. Thanks, Well, I saw no point in arguing any more, I found it mentally exhausting fighting with the big guys, but at least it shows people that it is worth a bit of a fight. If I had of hung out for more I may of lost totally and I could see no point in that, so just cut my losses. Cheers Jackie
  5. Hi all, Well I have some good news at last. I have just had en email from Click Finance and they are offering me £1000.00p as a gesture of goodwill. I have decided to accept this as it will not leave me far short and I never expected Click or Blemain to pay anything back. I hope others of you have some good news too shortly. Have a wonderful bank holiday. all the very best to you all jackie
  6. Hi All, No news to report. I wrote to Click and blemain what seems like weeks ago now. As you might expect neither of them have had to politeness to even reply. Like others I have had letters from Blemain offering me more loans, as if I would ever think of even using them again. I will have to figure out where to go next if I do not get an answer from either of them this week. Getting really fed up with it all now. Cheers, have a good day. Jackie
  7. Hi groovycaz, Thanks, not had a reply from any one yet. I exspect they think they have won. My loan agreement definaetly states in the breakdown of cost, "Payment Protection Insurance premium". I did try to make a claim in January 07 as I had an operation on my foot and it had to be broken, I was in plaster for 8 weeks and still have to take pain relief and put up with swelling etc. Consultant said it would take about 12 months to heal properly. I got told by Blemain when I rang them to enquire that I was not coverd for this. I never knew why !!!! I have been off of work now since 12th January. I have had to put up with being told so far that: I AM NOT COVERD FOR THAT! I HAVE NOT GOT PPI! I WAS SOLD LIFE INSURANCE ONLY! May be I am getting confused now, but how can they keep changing their minds about what I was sold. Surely if my agreement say I was sold PPI, then that is what I was sold. Speak later Jackie
  8. Hi Midge, Just written another letter to Click. I have expressed the point that I never knew what exactly they were selling to me. I also pointed out another problem which may make them sit up and re think. I am dissabled and in order to obtain life insurance the companies normaly require medical evidence from my GP before they will insure me, then they tend to add on a bit extra as I am considerd a high risk. It seems that click never enquired as to if I had any pre existing medical conditions and this life cover would NOT have ever paid out if I had popped me clogs. It excludes existing medical conditions. I think I can assume that the company should have asked a few questions before selling it to me. That is apparently a definate miss selling of a policy, but now to prove that as well. They get you tied up in knots and everything is always there way. so frustrateing. Oh it gets so complicated, it is driving me mad. I get bad headaches just thinking about it and I can not sleep. The guy I am dealing with is on hols this week so will have to wait till he returns for a reply ni doubt. May be I should have adressed it to the MD. Speak soon jackie
  9. Hi, Got me head back together:) I know you mean the Financial ombudsman now. Too early in day for me to get my head round stuff. Just finished hoovering and stuff, so not with it yet. They did write to Click with regard to the miss selling of a PPI. But now Click are basicaly saying that they sold me a life cover, or from what I can make of it, and to my way of thinking that is Not the same as a PPI. Apparently they sold me with my knowledge a PPI which only covers us in the event of our death. It was only to give us 3 years cover as well. So we payed £2,142.00 for that. I assume this was for £25000 worth of cover. If you divide that by 3 years that means we were paying £59.50p per month for cover. Compare that to my normal life cover for which we pay £40 per month for £90,000.00 worth of life cover, you will gather that what they claim we had was extreemly expensive. I also can not understand why if it was only life cover they did not place it with a normal insurance company in the normal way or just tell us to up our existing cover. What person in their right minds uses a PPI for the purpose of just life cover. That to me is not a payment protection plane. Hope that makes sence. I am going to write them a letter I think stateing just that.
  10. Thanks, Nice to have some one to discuss it with, some times you feel like you are alone in these things and that makes you feel down! Not sure what the FOS is now, getting a groggy head with it all. Have they got a web site and if they have where is it? Will ring them. I still want Blemain to settle their huge redemption fees, but do not know how to handle them now either. Wondering if I should use a no win no fee firm to sort it. Jackie
  11. Fed up with it now and feel like giving up. No matter what I do or say it seems to me they will twist it in their favour. Any advice? Jackie
  12. Hi All, I got a letter from Click finance yesterday. They say they are unable to uphold my claim against them as I agreed to the life cover they sold me. Funny thing is that my loan agreemene does not say anything about life insurance, it says PPI. I did not know they were the same thing. They sent a copy of a form which they get every one to sign, It just says at the top, Ensuring your policymeets your needs. It says I ticked a box to say I have retained a copy of the policy summary, but where is that then? Never seen it. If I was purchaseing life cover then surely it would have been with a proper insurance company as are my normal life insurance policys. Seems to me it is another cop out
  13. They did but said they need to look at thir original paperwork. They are supposed to get back to me again in the next day or 2 they can not see a problem
  14. sorry Groovycaz, spelt your name wrong:???: Blame stress ETC !!!!!!!
  15. Hi Groovycats & Midge, Should have a phone call later from the broker who sold me the whole lot, well his boss that is. Will post later with results of that call. Midge, nothing at all on my agreement with regard to early redemptions. speak later, may be lucky enough to have some good news but I doubt that will happen. Jackie
  16. My daughter states that there is no where in the agreement that says anything about early redemption charges, in fact there is no information about redeeming the account any where in the agreement. It should have a section some where, which states what you would be charged if you redeemed your account, eg, within first 3 years X amount, after 3 years X amount, if you know what I mean. You normally find it on most agreements and mortgages, but ours had nothing at all. Hope that helps and makes sence. You will also probably not find any reference to removeing the charge on your property either. BAD W e did get ours removed but only after a fight. We also found that we never got anything back from BF to say we had actually repayed all of the loan, at least we have our bank statements etc to prove it. We requested a letter of confirmation but that never came. Have a nice evening. Jackie
  17. By ther way Midge, How is Somerset at moment, we used to live in North Devon, moved up to Shropshire 15 years ago, HATE it!!!!
  18. Hi, It was the Financial ombudsman that have said that I have to give Click for Freedom finance 9 weeks to respond. I have just come off of the phone to them, even though it took me all afternoon to get to speak to a manager. Anyway, he has promised to get to the bottom of it and is going to call me back tomorrow afternoon. He said he is not happy about the fact that his department have failed also in that they never responded to my emails or rang me back. So I am hopeing that it will be sorted asap, but I will not hold my breath!! I told him that I have found others with grievences about Blemain and he was shocked, he was also not aware that they were not registerd with any one and had onlky recently registerd with the FISA or what ever they are called. I have no reason to doubt the bloke as he seemed a very genuine type of person, especialy whebn I told him my daughter in law is a solicitor and that she has looked at the agreement with Blemain and found fault with it. He seemed to agree with most things which I complained about. Anyway will have to wait now and see what tomorrow brings. It is raining buckets here and I have a thumping head, thanks to Blemain and Click, p'haps I should send them a bill now for my painkillers!! LOL  It is nice to know you are not alone in these matters as at times it makes you feel like throwing in the towel and letting them win, but then you have to stop and tell yourself that if we all did that these rogue companies would be laughing all the way to the bank Not my week this week, hubby damaged my car accidently when reversing so haveing to wait for my motor insurance company now. Yet another problem for me to deal with. Daughter getting married, posh do, next March so busy now with that, . Also fighting home insurance company for pay out on mains water leak damage to our drive, getting run around from Norwich union over that. Problem is you only ever get through to a call centre in India. They never seem to know what you are talking about and ask for same info over and over. So had to phone London office this morning to sort that out. Defenaetly NOT my week. I need a long hot sunny holiday now to recharge my batterys. Take care. Have a good day Jackie
  19. Hi All, Got a letter from Financial ombudsman this morning, seems they have written to Click Finance, who were the brokers that sold me the secured loan and PPI, they have advised them that they have to deal with the matter. I telephoned them and asked to speak to a manager, got told they were all in meetings and would call me back! you guessed it, NO CALL. Blemain have now said that they will give me a full refund of my PPI if Click finance tell them that it was miss sold. I am still going round in circles, because now Click will not respond to my calls or emails etc. Seems I now have to give Click Finance 9 weeks to respond. This all takes the biscuit ! I am feeling pretty down with it all, it is costing me a packet in letters and phone calls. Has any one had any luck with getting their money back with Blemain or brokers yet? I do not understand why the broker put us with Blemain in the first place, not knowing we just took their advice. But we had NO CCJ's or defaults or anything. Never missed a mortgage payment, in fact we have perfect credit rateings, it was just that we are self employed. No HP, No credit cards nothing. Just a very large house with a lot of equity. Which saying that makes me now begin to wonder, is that what these firms are after! Speak to you all shortly Have a nice day Jackie
  20. Hi, Just had an email back from Blemain. Dear Mrs Standley I write with reference to your email received 12th July 2007. The settlement statement as supplied to you on 20th March 2007 was calculated fully in accordance with your legal agreement. The outstanding balance was calculated on an actuarial basis (reducing balance) and not using the “rule of 78” as you state. The Early Repayment Charge (ERC) was again calculated as per your legal agreement. The rebate with reference to the cancelled PPI in the sum of £578.34 was sent to you 20th April 2007. This rebate amount was calculated in accordance to the terms and conditions as detailed in your insurance documentation (again not using the “rule of 78”). Any concerns which you have regarding the mis-selling of the PPI must be referred to your broker who sold you the policy (Click For Freedom). I am sure that this addresses all your issues. Kind Regards Howard Laddin Group Customer Services Manager Blemain Group My responce is going to them now as: I have gone over the agreement of which page 2 was missing and was always missing and can not find anything about early redemption figures at all. We were never told about them, so they are totaly unfair. I feel it is up to Bleamin to remedy this situation forth with. As for the insurance documentation, WE NEVER HAD ANY !!!!! This must have been an over sight on the part of some one not our fault but yours. We asked for a copy after we had settled our account in full and eventualy recieved one, but I am going over it with a fine tooth comb, so to speak and there is NOTHING about refunds in fact it is just a copy of what cover we may or may not of had and not anything else.
  21. Hi Chris, I wrote to Blemain Complaints deptment on 2 occassions in April 07 and they never responded. I telephoned them on numerouse occassions and got told they did not ever recieved my letters, then on the last time was told they must have been accidently destroyed. I talked to the finacial ombudsman but still after sending all the copys of agreement etc have not had a responce from them. I spoke to consumer direct and they just told me to write to Blemain again. Waste of time. My so called agreement says NOTHING about early settlment figures, there is NO mention of early settlment in the agreement. In fact there should be 5 pages of the so called agreement, page 2 was always missing, so we have no idear what is on it. I never recieved any PPI policie documents of any description so have no idear as to who the insurance was with. I asked for a copy after we repyed them all the money and they sent us a document which says Direct Group Limited. Says underwritten by Norwich Union. I today emailed Blemain again, but have had NO responce. I just do not know what to do now. No one seems to be able to help and as far as I am concerned Blemain should be repaying me a lot of money. We managed to get about £548 ish back from them as a PPI rebate, but they said that they work it out that, we had 3 years ppi WHICH CAME TO A TOTAL OF £2,142.00. They said take away 9 months premiums for the 9 months I had the loan for leaves 27 months premiums unused. They say they only repay 1% of remaining unused premiums. 27 months premiums + £1606.00 they only repay 1% of that which means I only get back £548 ish. So they keep over £1000.oop of our premiums. DISSGUSTING !!! Ialso noticed in this so called agreement in the very small print section 29.5 goes on about some guggly gook with regard to the consumer credit act 197
  22. Hi, Just found your site and threads and was very interested. I have a dispute also with Blemain Finance. I took out a secured loan last year for 25000 but repaid it in full in April this year at a cost to myself. Only had the loan for 9 months and they charged me £2,142.00 for PPI and would only refund £574 there excuse being that they only refund 1% of the remaining 27 months of unexspired premiums. RIPE OFF !! They also charged me £2,817.08 early repayment fee. The original loan was for only £25,500.00 but with the fees thay added at the start it shot up to £29,780.00. I ended up repaying them £32.958.17 plus my total monthly payments which came to £1455.00 makeing a total of £34,413.00. Wrote to them 3 months ago requesting repayment of PPI as was miss sold in our opinion. Sent letter special signed next day delivery, Blemain say they never got it, even though checked with PO and they signed for it. Sent another letter and same responce. Telephoned on numerouse occassions and got no where just fobbed off. Taken case to Financial ombudsman but they have not had chance to look at it 3 months later. still waiting. Any one got any advice, do not know what to do next!!!!!!!
