  1. Should i cancel my DD or leave it running? there is no payment protection on well there shouldn't be.
  2. I received a letter from Welcome finance this morning saying i am in arrears of £180. I rang to find out what this is as i have not missed any payments and was told my loan period is over and this is the outstanding balance. If it is not settled by the 1st December my account will automatically be put in a state of default and this will show on my credit rating. I asked how this has come about as i thought you just made payments and the loan finished the unhelpful chap told me that because i had missed a payment in Aug 2008 (£22) it has built up to the current total. When asked if i could just extend the loan and continue with my payments i was told no but my payments will continue to be taken from my account even though the loan has finished. My credit report for this loan is green and does not show this missing payment, Are they allowed to just put my account into default like this even though i have not missed a payment and should they still be taking payments if the loan has runout? Thanks for any advice.
  3. I'll leave it untill they get around to sending me a "case closed" letter
  4. Hey people, Just a quick update. sent my letter asking for proof of debt around about 3rd March its now 06th April and i have heard nothing. Anyone think i should send another letter?
  5. Sent this letter Dear Sir/Madam Account no: You have contacted me/us regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by myself/ourselves. I/we would point out that I/we have no knowledge of any such debt being owed to (insert company name). I am/we are familiar with the Office of Fair Trading Debt Collection Guidance which states that it unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that they are the debtor in question. I/we would also point out that the OFT say under the Guidance that it is unfair to pursue third parties for payment when they are not liable. In not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt you are using deceptive/and or unfair methods. Furthermore ignoring and/or disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment amounts to physical/psychological harassment. I/we would ask that no further contact be made concerning the above account unless you can provide evidence as to my/our liability for the debt in question. I/we await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed. Otherwise I will have no option but to make a complaint to the trading standards department and consider informing the OFT of your actions. I/we look forward to your reply. Yours faithfully (Your Name) Print do not sign
  6. Does anyone know how long i should give them to come up with the paper work?
  7. Hi all, I have recently recieved a letter from CapQuest Saying that i owe £310.76 for a Littlewoods Finance Company that i know nothing about so after reading a few threads I sent a letter requesting a copy of the agreement. Since I've never had a Littlewoods account I thought that would be that. How wrong. I have now recieved a letter saying they have requested the documentation from Littlewoods and whilst they are waiting for it they have selected my account as part of a pilot scheme. This scheme consists of offering me a one off settlement amount to clear this account. They are offering a saving of 75% which means i only pay £77.69. They also state this is currently registered as a default in my credit file. (which it isn't i check my credit report weekly) Now i have no intention of paying this £77 or any other amount but should i send i reply letter? and if so any ideas what i should write? i dont want this to suddenly appear on my account as a default if i mention to them that they are a bunch of lying scumbags, Also how long should i wait for this documentation from Littlewoods. Sorry its so long winded just wanted to get all the details in. Thanks for your help Snev
  8. Hi, Sorry this is abit off topic but i've read a good few threads about statute barred cases and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to my little question, when a debt becomes statute barred can the default be removed from my credit report? Thanks
  9. Unfortunatly not she has now got Sky fitted and already have Virgin package at the new house, Looks like i'll just have to pay it
  10. Hi new to this so please bare with me, I have been a customer of Vigin Media formally Telewest for over 2 years now. In november i moved house and moved my virgin services with me, Now i have split up with my girlfriend and moved out. Tried to cancel my virgin services as she doesn't want them but they are telling me i have to pay £129 cancellation fee because when i moved house it became a new 12 month contract. I have never signed anything to say this is a new contract and the lady at Virgin confirmed that i had not signed the new contract but will forward a copy to me in the post. Do i still have to pay this cancellation fee? or because i have not signed anything should i be able to cancel for free? Thanks
