Just had a call from CarProtect, trying to sell me a warranty on a car that I got an insurance quote for, but never even saw let alone owned, that I saw on Autotrader some time ago. I'd got multiple quotes from a comparison website out of curiosity to see if it was going to be affordable. Once I'd pointed out that I'd never owned a Mini Cooper (they seemed as confused as I was - "So you've sold it then??") they were fairly keen to hang up the phone, not before I got my request in to remove me from their database. It goes without saying that I was rather alarmed that not only they had my details but made this assumption. Following a google search I rather unsurprisingly stumbled across much unscrupulous behaviour on their part. What should I do? Can I / Should I report them or something? If so who to? Thanks
