Hello everyone, this is my first post so be easy!! Recently my wife got a telephone call from a certain "satellite TV specialists", asking for myself, regarding a continuation of our digi-box warranty. She was told that because we had the warranty last year, would she want to continue it? The person on the phone praised the product etc and because the person made my wife believe that I had renewed the warranty the year before, which I did not, she said YES. I did not find out about this until the first quarterly installment was taken out of our bank account, after i had cancelled the direct debit there came a heated discussion with my Wife and then also with the satellite company. I told them that the DD was cancelled and that I did not want the warranty, to which they replied "this does not affect the underlying contract liability entered between the company and yourself and you must pay any outstanding amounts" The paperwork they sent is addressed to me, although they never spoke to me. And i have never signed a contract or agreement with these people, who are now threatening to go to a debt recovery agency. Can they do this!! CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS. ANY ADVICE WILL BE APPRECIATED:)
