  1. Not sure if you can help or advise me....I recentley had to take my son out of private school due to my enormous debt problem. I went to school & explained I was near to losing my house my debts were so bad (I'm a single parent & work part time). Luckily I got my son into a good state school. My problem is that the private school are insisting I pay them a terms fees in notice, which is about £2200.00. I don't have this spare money and I'm really upset, I don't know what I can do. Any advise most welcome...Joanna
  2. thanks for the advice, that's what I will do and will let you know if I hear back from them which I think I will!
  3. Just received a letter today from UK P.A.O. Ltd saying they received my letter saying they were not getting another penny out of me and I quoted a few sentences I picked up from these threads. They replied saying I was parked on private land which stipulates terms & conditions and I broke these. They are demanding the remainder of the charge I owe at £50.00. Also failure to make payment will result in further charges accuring at the rate of £3.00 a day reverting back to April when the ticket was issued. The closing sentence reads "Your comments have been noted and will be held on file until this matter proceeds to County Court. Mmmm.... any suggestions for a reply to these horrible people. I have found determination not to be ripped off but as a single parent, blonde and female (lol) is does worry me a little. Jo
  4. Hiya, yes its definately a free car park - used for Benson Beds, A Bike Shop and PC retail company. I've paid them one payment of £10 and I'm going to send them a letter tomorrow saying they are not getting anymore and the ten pounds should cover their admin costs but they won;t be getting a penny more. I'm so glad people like you are out there with web site like this to advise us blissfully ignorant people - not so anymore, got my fighting hat on.
  5. Hi - Sorry for delay in replying. This is a private carpark by the name of UK P.A.O. Ltd based in Leeds. They did put a ticket on the car and there are signs around the car park and I think it did say about the car being wholly within a bay but it;s a big 4x4 pick up that belongs to my partner and I always park over the line abit to stop people parking next to me and leaving dents on the door! They sent me a photo showing how the car was parked. And finally yes they have put in writing that the £3 a day interest will be applied. I'd agreed to pay them £10 a month but I'm thinking of telling them where to go. What do you think? Thanks Jo
  6. Just issued court proceedings against A&L for bank charges. Read every where I should open another current account incase they try to close mine. Any ideas who I should chose to open another account with and is this really necessary -can they really close my account. Help! Single mum with no real idea, just going with the flow and need solid advice. thanks Jo
  7. Was very interested in reading your comments. Maybe you could advise me. I parked in a private car park in Leeds last month and received a ticket for not being parked Wholly within a bay. The ticket was for £60. I wrote to the company and complained at this money making racket and I did not want to pay. They wrote back saying if I did not pay within 10 days then they would add £3 per day in costs and instruct a debt collection company to retrieve the money. I don;t admitting I was worried and agreed to pay the fine at £10 per month. I was worried I would end up with hundreds of pounds to pay and baliffs at the door. Can they get away with this and can you suggest any further course of action. Regards Joanna
