  1. Thanks for that information. Would this be 40 days from my first contact, or 40 days from the date of the letter saying about the "No Hidden Charges Product"? Best wishes Carol
  2. Hi, around 2 weeks ago I sent S.A.R. letters to Capital One and Vanquis with the view to claiming back my charges. Capital One responded within a week, enclosing statements for the past 6 years. Vanquis first sent a letter saying they would be in touch soon. Then on Saturday, I received a letter from Vanquis saying: "Please be advised that your account is a "No Hidden Charges" product and therefore no default charges would be applied to your account. I also sent a cheque with my original request, of which there has been no mention. Is this right do you think. They only mention default charges, where the S.A.R. also asks about overlimit fees etc. In any case, surely as I was requesting copy statements/information, they should have sent them regardless - it is up to me to find out if there were any charges or not. What are your opinions please? Thanks, Carol.
  3. Hi, I work for a GP, and agree that this really should not happen. All that I can suggest is that you either DO make an appointment with the GP, ring up a few weeks before you know your sick note is due to make sure you get an appointment and take it from there, or after ordering your sick note, when you are due to collect it, ask the receptionist to go and physically check that the note is there, they may just be presuming that because you have ordered it will be there. If all else fails, and it happens again, tell the Practice Manager that you want to make a formal complaint. She should then investigate what has happened and tell you what the Practice are going to do to ensure it doesn't happen again. From my point of view, if we had a patient that this had happened to once, we would go out of our way to ensure it didn't happen to them again, so I really can't understand what is happening with them. Good luck! Carol
