  2. It's now 14 days (will still await the postie later today, seing as it is midnite!) But if they have not replied... what to do...
  3. Hi all! It's my 20th birthday tommorow! But anyway, that's beside the point; I didn't get round to letting everybody kno that I sent a letter to the Abbey Data Protection Department on Monday April 24th, via Recorded delivery, £10 cheque enclosed, so fingers crossed.
  4. TVAM ?!? Didn't they finish YEARS ago, replaced by GMTV?.. LOL
  5. I was unable to file the letter to Abbey as soon as I would have liked Bcos I did not have the £10 until now! but will send it and inform u of what happens ...Wish me luck!
  6. Cheers 4 replying! (I can't believe I got my 1st eva reply on here so quickly!) Yep, I have been scouring through an assortment of threads dealing with Abbey since about 3hours ago! -From what I've herd/ read, I bet your reply is a LOT quicka than what Abbey's would be(!)
  7. I incurred a future Abbey bank charge today (18th April) for the second time*, just for being overdrawn by £1.30 because of a debit card payment made on Saturday, which cleared today (but there was nothing I could do because the bank was closed during the Easter bank holiday, when I would have prevented the charge by making the payment) I know that I am going to be charged £30 unauthorised overdraft charge + £20 outstanding debit fees (or something like that) *(Last time was 03 January, for a 'payment' taken out by a Planetary Publishing software company from 28 December - 0f -£1.63 - for a £20 which was supposed to have been refunded within 48hours (on the condition agreed over the phone with the software company as that as long as it was paid back into the account by then it would be acceptable, oherwise I would've got charged) -which I did in the end ;-( and had to sort out the software company for not refunding the temporary 48hour bank account "verification payment", but did not contact Abbey about this occasion as I felt it had nothing to do with them. But, I paid in £2 as soon as I could this morning to stop the "-" balance figure... From Saturday late afternoon I was aware that I had gone beyond the £0 balance after I had paid for some essential materials for my course from Paperchase on Tottenham Court Road on Saturday on my Abbey debit card. As I was determined to get to the bank as soon as it opens on Monday, so that I won't get charged. However, because it was the Easter bank holiday, it would not be open, so I would have to chance it and pay in an amount Tuesday morning to keep the balance in the black. However, it still charged me. I was thinking that because the transaction was supposed to be processed over a minimum of 3 working days, that that would not include the bank holiday Monday - let alone Sunday, as this is not a working day, and want to claim based on these grounds. But would it be eligible as a claim for a refund? or do I have to wait until after paying the £50 charge, for it to be a refund?.. + I wanted to mention that I enquired twice about getting authorisation for an ovedraft on my Abbey Current account, but apparently, one reply in February (or March?- I have to check my letter from Abbey) tuned me down, but suggested re-applying for one in 2 months' time to see what they can do. the second response from an Abbey advisor over the phone this month told me that I am not eligible for one, unless the overdraft is incurred in the same calendar month as a payment of £1000+ (which is later this month) But, is only applicable following the date of this £1000+ installment. + 1 last thing; Isn't it funny how it does in actual fact take a minimum of 3 up to 7 carefully-timed WORKING days when us 'customers' await payment to come into our accounts, and yet when a payment is to be taken from our accounts, it is done before we know it?!? PLEASE CAN SOME ONE (PREFERABLY AN ADMIN.) PROVIDE ME WITH ANY USEFUL ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO AS I AM NOT HAPPY WIH ABBEY'S DECISION TO CHARGE ME £50 FOR -£1.30, THAT I GENUINELY INTENDED TO PAY AS SOON AS THE BANK OPENED DUE TO THE EASTER BANK HOLIDAY, and whether I should pay B4 or after contacting Abbey... THANX I actually have had no money until April 24th, when I get my next student loan installment. My only real income is from my Student Loan + Grant (approx. £1000 + £300 3times an academic year only), and my single mother is only on income support, with two other teenagers to support (I'm 19, unemployed, full-time 2nd year BA Degree Uni student- not entitled to any form of JobSeekers Allowance or any Benefits including the 'New Deal' scheme, because I attend Uni full-time, but am living at home and have not managed to attain a job before for some unjust reason, despite applying for numerous term-time vacancies, having a very good Curiculum Vitae, and being on JSA after finishing my BTEC ND in college 2summers ago, for a few months b4 being taken of because I had to start Uni.)
