I am trying to help my son-in-law get his charges back and it is all very daunting. With Halifax I have got as far as putting a claim into court but Lloyds are proving a bigger problem. They did not respond to my SAR for charges information and so I sent a letter giving them 7 days to comply before I take them to court. Trouble is, that time has gone past and I don't know how to take them to court for information. I tried to go through the moneyclaimonline but as it is just information I am requesting, how much is the fee for that? It seems terrible that you have to pay the court just to get a copy of charges (no doubt this is where they hope people will drop out). Any help anyone can give - in the simplest and easiest forms possible please! - will be much appreciated.

Information re charges

Thanks Jowalshy - I am grateful for your advice. Can I be cheeky and ask something else? Another bank have ignored letter requesting statements so I have sent them a letter giving them 7 days to reply (which is almost up). If they ignore that, what do I do next? -
Hi I have just applied to court via moneyclaimonline and wondered whether I need to send copy of my updated charges (and interest) and court fee directly to the bank? Also, the notice of issue has come from Northampton Court. If we get that far (and that is the bit I am dreading) , do we have to go all the way to Northampton from Warrington?

Hi My son-in-law took out a loan for £5000 over 5 years with the Household Bank. Unfortunately he didn't understand the consequences of being charged 29.9% APR plus PPI premium. At the end of the term he will have paid back over £11,000. He has been paying for nearly 2 years and already paid £4000 and in another six months he will be "entitled" to pay off early at a cost of another £4000! Are there any other options to getting out of this mess?
