  3. Great I have 5 cards in all, in the same position, I will do that!! Cheers
  4. Having successfully reclaimed my bank charges, thanks to this forum and the lovely people on it, now it's time to start on credit cards. However, I got into difficulty with BC around 2003 and couldn't make minimum payments, so they froze interest and I have been making smaller payments ever since. How do I stand with this situation and should I maybe wait until the debt is paid off before making my claim against BC? Has anyone else on here had that experience? Also my other cards are now with debt collection agencies whom I am paying, can i start reclaiming against those cards as well?
  5. Excellent news ! My final letter before court action was £2100 including £300 interest, resulted in a reply last Wednesday from natwest "we stand by our charges, however having reviewed your case blah blah... will refund you £1850 in full and final...blah blah". Wasn't going to haggle over £300 so sent my acceptance off straight away and money was in my bank account today!! Wayheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I would like to thank everyone who contributes to this board, I mainly lurk and you have all given me inspiration to keep on going! I have made a donation and will now fill in the survey. I also continue to tell all my friends about this site. Good luck to each and every one of you still fighting. Please keep going it will be worth it in the end. Now to continue with my Barclays claim which will be for a similar amount.......
  6. Very prompt reply from Mr stuart Higley...standard **** off response. I am amazed how arragant he is - that although he is sorry I may pursue this through the courts, should i wish to do so, make sure i use the address at the bottom of the letter!!!!! Unbelieveable. LBA to be sent tomorrow.
  7. Had a tatty brown envelope today from nat West containing copy statements since Dec 2003 ( actual statements so dead easy to read). Total = £1425.15. Really shocked how much it all added up - this bank account is much more better behaved than my old one so goodness knows how much that one will come to.!! Sending preliminary letter asking for repayment tomorrow. Bring it on....
  8. Last week Nat West acknowledged my DPA request but have not cashed my cheque as yet. They don't seem to hurry do they?
  9. After my DPA letter I had a reply from Joyce Tudor In Edinburgh, asking did I want copy statements or a full Subject Access Request. And that I need to include a cheque in any case as they were not a branch and couldnt take the money out of my account like I asked. So i have replied thanking them for their quick response, asking for SAR amd enclosing a cheque for £10 Wait and see now
  10. Best of luck, watching this one carefully as I will have one against Barclays soon enough!
  11. Over the bank holiday weekend sent my DPA letter to the Data protection manager for copies of statement setc. So got the ball rolling now. Am quite looking forward to the fight although a little nervous as NatWest seem to take it nearly all the way. Good luck to everyone else.
  12. Sent my DPA letter over the bank holiday weekend so have got the ball rolling at last. I did send them an email about 2 weeks ago but had a reply saying it would be £5 per account and to send my request in writing or call in at the branch. I just realised i should have send it special delivery which i didnt so i hope they don't "lose" it.... This site is fab and there's so much to take in and read. It'll be worth it in the end though i hope. Thanks to everyone for their advice so far, I just love reading everyone's updates to see how they are faring!! Good luck to everyone
  13. I think you need to read the FAq's and it will become clearer what you need to do next. You will probably need to read it and the rest of the site over a few days to take it all in!! THere are templates you can use to get copies of your statements.
  14. He does have access, as do I as it's still in joint names and i know the account number. They will probably pay off the overdraft with some of the money but we are fairly amicable ( me and my ex not me and the bank lol) so there won't be any problem. To be honest he was already going to do the same as me and claim back anyway. when I told him about this site and offered to d it on our behalf. I think off the top of my head the refund will be 3 times more than the overdraft.
  15. Well when my ex and i separated and made a financial agreement, he had the cash to pay off the overdraft and keep the account for himself. He chose to not pay it off and used another account he had. So I have had no dealins with this account for 18 months. We sold our house to a relative so we are getting the mail when we choose to go and get it.
  16. I just wanted a bit of advice before i send out my DPA letter. I have a Barclays account which is in joint names of my self and my ex husband. It is overdrawn and dormant but beneath the limit (just). The address they hold is the ex-marital home, we have now both moved on separately. They won't change the name to my ex-husband only nor will they change the addrress (?? so they are willing to just "lose " us...). My husband is happy for me to deal with this claim business, so I was just going to send the standard letter and quote my own address as the correspondance address. What do others think? Thanks
