  3. Thanks, Travel Centre just called...and I had a missed call on my mobile earlier. They need to speak to their Bank Manager...and couldn't track him down. Will sort it for me on Monday. Not ideal but at least they are keeping in touch and working on it.
  4. Thanks again for your advice - not so great myself on the phone. I don't think the manager works weekends but I'll pop in for an update anyway. It was company letter on headed paper signed by the HR manager. Phone numbers for them to clarify the lot. The good thing is they don't have an address for my employer, only my home address but I'll not risk them just holding on to it.
  5. Thanks for replying Skippy. I got a letter from HR and took it to my rail station. Again they were reluctant. However they let me fill out the form and took it from me and said the office manager would call today - they didn't so I'll need to go in on monday. However...two of my colleagues were accepted with no hassle at all at two seperate local stations. I'm going to lose just under 2 months due to having to cancel it, yet my employer will not take that into consideration. Should I take this up, if/once my cheque from Scotrail and final payslip from employer comes through?
  6. I accepted Voluntary Redundancy and I'm due to finish on 18th April(However I unofficially finish on Friday 30th March) VR was accepted as Compulsory redundancy was 99.99% guaranteed and I wasn't interested in any position that would have been available under the 0.01% chance. My package was sorted and I was happy. As I got a season ticket loan from my company for a rail ticket I was told the company would be taking this from my final pay(£1100 or thereabouts) and I'd need to get a refund if I no longer needed it. Well I no longer need it so went to get a refund tonight from the rail company only to be told that any refund would be in the form of a cheque made payable to my company as it was their cheque that paid for it - makes perfect sense I think, but why has my employer overlooked this? I'm going to flag this up tomorrow but I fear I'm going to be fleeced big time here. Any advice?
  7. Hi guys, I've logged on to my internet banking today and can see that I've had 4 individual transactions gone through while I'm over my auth overdraft. Is it worth bothering to call the bank to explain that I've got a cheque ready to be paid in? Or do I chase these up on top of the ones I'm already chasing(LBA stage) What's your experience, this is Abbey I'm dealing with,
  8. I don't believe this, I've just checked my bank and I've had 4 transactions outwith my authorised overdraft. £120 charges if I'm not mistaken. Can I claim these yet? Or do I need to go through a second procedure while I'm waiting on the first batch.
  9. Not with this company, complete shambles from top to bottom. I came in today and was threatened with instant dismissal for taking the time off to chase this up. Despite me emailing my manager and letting him know.
  10. Thanks for all your advice, went into the station and lady was very helpful but advised she didn't reckon it would happen due to the fraud issue mentioned above. She did hint that they do investigate for exceptions so that got my hopes up....unfortunately the manager was at a funeral so I was asked to call tomorrow. Popped up to CAB but it was closed so set myself up for another day off work trying to solve it. Then I got a phone call, my mate found my ticket in his car! Thanks again, a lesson learned!
  11. Sounds like a waste of time and effort even bothering. I'm nipping out to CAB now then to see the manager.
  12. I don't have any use for the ticket, I won't be travelling to the city anymore, at all. I can't believe this, lost it the night before I was due to get a refund. What are the exceptions then? Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the reply, that's something that I can ask today at last. I also want to know in regards to "not usually made on dupicate tickets" what the exceptions are. I've got my letter of redundancy to take along with me. Thanks again.
  14. Just to add this is whats on the back of their refund form, I'd already filled it in before I lost it. The National Rail Conditions of Carriage Clause 35 states that refunds are not usually made on a duplicate ticket that has been issued to replace a lost season ticket.
  15. Hi folks, Need some help here. When I started working for my current employer they offered me a "Season Ticket Loan" which involved them writing First Scotrail a cheque for just over £1400. I pay this back over the year through my monthly wage. Now I found out a few months ago we were being made redundant so I got clarification on what would happen with the Season Ticket Loan. I was told that they'd take the whole lot, about £1100 out of my final salary. This left me looking for a refund on the ticket as I'd no longer need it in my new job. Spoke to Scotrail tonight and was informed although they refund Season Tickets they will not refund mine as I'd lost it and since had it replaced. I'm going to see the manager tomorrow morning, so any help appreciated.
  16. Standard letter received yesterday. We'll reply in 4 weeks, advising they won't pay for 3rd parties etc... Sticking to my schedule and the LBA will go out when the 14 days expire.
  17. Hi Jon. I'm pretty sure there is a Glossary among the FAQ. I sent my Prelim to the Bradford address, I hope I've not messed up.
  18. Seconds out...round two. Both prelim and schedule of charges off in the post today. Total of £1060.68 including the 8%. Edit: Thankfully I read the FAQ's and removed the 8%. Doh!
  19. Can anyone help me out with the schedule of charges part? I've looked through the forum and can't find a template. Apologies if I've missed it.
  20. Right, I've double checked and got the statements in order. I'm claiming for £930. Is there any particular way to set up your schedule of charges? I'm just looking to list date and amount. Do you need to include the reason they charged you? Also, I'm in Scotland, I've had a look over the differences in our law, if I'm right they don't kick in just yet, do they?
  21. Well looked today, everything is there. Had a look at my desk this morning and it's "only" £885 in charges. Ding Ding Round 2!
  22. I'm not sure yet, my memory doesn't quite go back 37 months. I'm going to pick them up at home this morning, all will be clear then. If they ain't all there I'll stick to the 40 days. Is it normal for them to return the cheque, and to send the statements in individual envelopes? My postman must have been thinking "Aye, there's another one taking on the banks"
  23. S.A.R answered this morning. Covering letter along with 37 individual envelopes containing statements. Oh and my cheque returned to as Abbey say they don't charge for it. Some intensive calculation and reading on the cards. Hopefully take the next step before I go on holiday on thursday.
  24. Cheque arrived on the 6th, do I take my notice from here?
  25. I've sent them a cheque, although it's not from my Abbey account, hope this doesn't make a difference. I'm hoping we're talking thousands here. 8)
