  1. My hubby has 2 debts with Aktiv £1,513.84 and £1,416.65 he got a letter this week asking for £150 for each debt to be cleared in full. My question is can this be a con or should he grab the offer?
  2. I have just called Blackhorse RE;£425 refund of charges and they said because the debt was sold to Lewis Group a couple of years back and I have been making payments to them i need to contact Lewis group and not them. 1. Is this true? 2. Who do i get my charges from?
  3. Thanks a lot for your help. I am sending them a SAR tomorrow so I can know the breakdown of the figures. Will keep you posted.
  4. I have written to Blackhorse regarding refunding a charge for the sum of £425. The outstanding amount of the debt was passed to Lewis debt services who i pay £30 a month and I have been doing for a couple of years. Blackhorse have not responded to my 2 letters and i followed with a phone call but i was told they didnt get the letter even though it was signed for hence the second letter and still no reponse from them. They have gone over the 14 days with the second letter so what do i do now, do i add interest on the £425 amount? do i keep on making the monthly payment to the debt collection agency? and how do i get my money back?
  5. Urgent advice needed on this. I wrote to welcome requesting a refund on the so called optional PPI sold to my husband and I when we were desperate in 2004. We were not given an option concerning this at the time. They have come back to say they are willing to cancel or offer a rebate. As i do not want any of the above but a full refund i would like some advice on my next letter or move to them. Sorry for my ignorance but my paperwork says: payment protection = £3,627.12 Policy term = 60 months Interest £7,341.02 Total payable = £10,968.14 Monthly payment = £60.93 APR = 21.00% Interest per month = 1.58% Another paperwork says Total Amount of credit £23,219.72 (A) Amount of credit for cash adv £19,592.60 (B) (we were not actually given this amount of cash at the time) Amount of Credit for insurance £3,627.12 (k) APR 21.00% Acceptance fee = £235 My question now is how much am i claiming back plus the interest and how to respond to welcome not wanting to pay back the ppi.
  6. Thanks for your response I will write the letter and keep you posted.
  7. I was involved in an accident driving a friend's car. My friend was in the car with me and we were hit on the motorway from behind by this large truck and he threw us in a ditch where the police helped us out. I have a comprehensive insurance and thought everything will be straight forward only to be told by my insurers (Tesco) that I have to liase with the other party's insurance myself as I was driving a friend's car. I have done that and now the guy is denying liability I contacted the police but they will not get involved until it gets to litigation. The driver of the truck was clearly guilty and I am surprised he is denying as he was driving a company car. Please help as my friend is on my neck and the car needs to be repaired or written off.
  8. I need someone to please shed some light on this. I am with Capstone or SPML as they call themselves. I need to know whether I can claim my charges back from them as they charge me for late payments and these charges are a quite high. Can I claim this as well? Help needed. Ta Awongs
  9. Pls Help. The Bailiffs have been to my house and I signed a form to say they can take the listed goods. I have offered to pay the money in installments but they want the full payment. I went to my Council and they said once it has been given to the Bailiffs there is nothing they can do. What do I do before they come and get my things. Ta Awongs
