Barclays charges refunded, no questions asked...plus an extra £85

hi I have sent cheque for £10 for these statements, (on behalf of my son, he sent £50 off his barclay card and they deducted 1p off his balance) I sent it on 13th march, haven't had a reply, do I wait until 40 days are up, or do I contact bank in case they haven't received my post. The £10 chque hasn't been deducted from my bank. -
