  1. My daughter has been having trouble with barclaycard for some weeks now on the advise of the C.A.B she sent a list of her income and outgoings to her creditors and all accepted a token payment of £1.00 until her circumstances improve but over the last 2 weeks Barclaycard have started to harasser her over her debt (11 calls in the last 3 days) every time she speaks to somebody they seem to ignore what she is saying, that she is paying all she can afford at the moment and when things improve she will inform them and up her payments . then someone else will call her sometimes 1/2 hour later they now say that they have past it on to a debt collector but they all dont seem to get the message that she is paying all she can afford any advise on how to stop the calls would be appreciated i feel she is being harassed and over stressed out as she is 8 months pregnant.
  2. my daughter has just left rented accomodation (9/04/07) and the landlord did his final inspection with my daughter and my wife and said all was fine, then three weeks later when we asked for the deposit back he said there was work to be done ie. decorating and carpet cleaning (even though we had them cleaned prior to her leaving and repainted any marks she had caused)etc so she would have to wait to see what was left of the deposit. When she started the tenancy there was no invetory done and she carried out small repaires from the last tenant now the land lord will not answer any calls/texts about the situation we are at a loss what to do next

Had an offer from norwich and peterbrough of 50% after LBA waiting to hear thier next step but i have to go away with work for about 6 weeks to australia is it ok to leave the next step (court action) for 6 weeks or is there a time limit on actions
  7. My daughter has got her self in a jam with her debts (husband left her with £18,500 debt in her name) she has been looking at a DMP with a company but i think there charges are a bit excessive is it possible to try and arrange a DMP yourself or are the banks etc more likely to deal with a debt managment company . I have been looking at the letter templates and wondered how succsessful people had been with them also is there a spreadsheet to work out pro rata payments so you can make her creditors an offer.
  8. Received letter today it says, Thank you for your letter concerning the above numbered account. the points you have raised are receiving attention and the banking operations manager ,Mr David Prresland will respond to you within the next 10 working days when all the relevant information is to hand. Please refer to the service commitment leaflet previously provided. Is this a standard letter after there offer letter and if i have to start court proceedings how long do i have to do this as i have got to go away with work for 6 weeks abroad and would not be able to start proceeding untill may.

  12. Recieved a letter back from N&P today it says With reference to your recent letter regarding charges on the above numbered account. This has been passed to me for response in my capacity of Banking Services Supervisor. As stated in the terms and condition sof the Gold Current Account, you are required to have sufficient cleared funds in your account the day prior to an item being presented. Should you fail to do this then the item will be returned unpaid and a charge of £29.50 levied. The Society believes it has acted lawfully at all times when operating your account and we have simply enforced the advertised charge structure, to which you agreed when entering into the contract with Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (the application form you signed on opening your account included a declaration and agreement which stated that you had read and agreed to be bound by the conditions of the account) The Society is owned by, and listens to, its members and we recognise that mistakes can happen so, if a customer makes a mistake and they incur a fee we will refund the first one on application, thereafter, to be fair and consistent to all our customers, all future fees and charges will not normally be refunded unless there were exceptional circumstances that we feel should be taken into consideration. In your case, I can see that we followed this policy when In March 2005 we refunded a charge that had been correctly applied to your account. At that time you were reminded of the terms and conditions for operation the Gold Current Account and advised that all remaining and future charges would stand. By continued use of the account, you indicated your acceptance to all terms and conditions of the acccount. I Hope you now have a better understanding of the situatioin. In the unfortunate event that you remain dissatisfied please let me know and I will arrange for your complaint to be reveiwed by the Banking & Investment Support Manager in accordance with our complaint procedure as detailed in our Service commitment leaflet enclosed. We will consider the matter to be closed if I do not hear from you within 8 weeks of the date of this letter. Is this a standard reply and now i guess its an LBA thanks for any comments
