I am in the same position with bofs please help

hope some-one can help I am in the process of claiming over £1000 from credit card I have been offered £500 only and after phoneing to-day was told very snippely I may add that I should either wait for them to complete investigation [28 days] or go ahead with court claim. Although I live in Scotland they have calculated 6 years payments can I go to claim in English court as my daughter lives there or do I have to claim in my local area please help as I am beginning to really worry about this if I am successful I will no longer be due anything on credit card and even have some left over at last thank you
