  1. Thanks for your help! I see how the apparent contradiction re: dates could cause confusion - I read the PCN numerous times but never noticed this before! Is this the kind of grounds on which tickets can be appealed? Could the council not object that the confusion here relates to the date at which the increased charge would apply, rather than to the initial 28 period (for which the wording appears correct)? Thanks again for hep! Gav
  2. Thanks both for your time. I don't quite follow the issue here - could you try to clarify for me (sorry - it's been a long day at work...) I do appreciate the assistance. Gav
  3. Thanks for your help. I really don't remember seeing a no right turn sign before the junction, though I have checked and there is one (or at least there is now one). I am inclined to ask when these signs were installed - as I've said, I've made this turn a number of times and without problem (as have many others), so I think this may be a new measure. I take it that the absence of a 'contravention description' is not significant given that in the space for 'contravention code' there also appears to be a description? THanks again - I do appreciate this help. Gav
  4. Thanks for you reply. Can you just clarify for me? Even though the Enforcement notice was not dispatched within the 28 days referred to in the earlier letter, this is no grounds for appeal? Thanks again. Gav
  5. Dear All, ** I've now attached the images to this post (I hope!) - Thanks! ** I would also appreciate your help with a second PCN which I have recently acquired! (I don't make a habit of this honestly... We've moved house recently and our new home appears to be in something of a hotspot for camera enforcement: I had ten years' driving with not so much as a single ticket and now I've had two in as many months...) This one, I fear, is a fair cop. I was following another motorist and turning right into the big Wickes just after the railway bridge at Catford Hill in London (something I've done more than half a dozen times since we moved in) when I noticed an 'ahead only' message painted on the road... I was a bit confused but there was a load of traffic behind and I was causing an obstruction and I rather panicked and followed the chap in front into the car park. I didn't think anything more of it until the PCN arrived! I have a couple of queries about the PCN: (1) They spelt my name wrong, though I have since discovered that this was the fault of the DVLA who managed to change my name rather than just my address when I updated my details after moving house. I doubt this is grounds for an appeal though? (2) There appears to be no 'Contravention description' in the appropriate box on the PCN (see attached images). There is a description above (in the 'Contravention code' box), so I suspect that this is legally sound? If anyone has any helpful suggestions about means of fighting this, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for your time and assistance. Gav
  6. Dear All, ** I have scanned and washed the PCN but I'm not sure how to attach it to this post... 7. Dear All, I would greatly appreciate any help with the following: I was issued with a PCN for entering a bus lane in November. I appealed on the grounds that I was making a left-turn. The appeal was rejected in a letter dated 19 December 2007. In this letter, it was stated that, in order to continue the appeal I needed to wait until I, the registered keeper, was 'issued with an Enforcement Notice. This will be dispatched within 28 days, giving a further 28 days to make full payment or make formal representation'. I received no notice during the 28 period and was beginning to hope that I'd slipped through the net. However, I have recently received the notice, which is dated 19/02/2008. As this is clearly out with the 28 days stipulated in the letter of 19/12/2007, I wonder if I have grounds to appeal? Any assistance would be gratefully received! Thanks all. Gav
  8. Thanks for help. The error here, I think, is with DVLA. I have recently moved house and have updated my address on the car's registration. I've just checked my new certificate and it has the incorrect spelling! I fear that this may invalidate my objections - though the error is not mine, neither is it TfL's... Unless anyone else can offer more positive news?
  9. I've just discovered a PCN from TfL... They have misspelled my surname on the PCN. Does this invalidate the ticket?
  10. I got a PCN last night for parking on a 'pavement' in Wandsworth. I was actually parked on a bit of a concrete near a sports centre car park, well out of the way of traffic and pedestrian, not on a pavement by a road and nowhere near shops/houses etc... I'm new to London and was not aware, until last night, that all pavements, verges etc, are out of bounds as far as parking goes. In the rest of the UK, to the best of my knowledge, this is not the case, and it's fine to park on the pavement as long as not causing an obstruction. Anyway, I fear that I'm going to have to pay the ticket but I did notice that, on the reverse of the ticket envelope the attendant had failed to complete the 'Notice No' box and I just wondered whether this might invalidate the ticket? The NOtice No is entered on the ticket itself, but not in the box on the back of the envelope (which then transfers to the return envelope provided by Wandsworth)... I fear the ticket is still valid but hoped someone might be able to tell me otherwise? THanks
