  1. Hi everyone, I'm quite new here...... Isn't it unfair when a large organisation can make your life hell, bombard you with stress inducing letters, take you to court and mess up your credit rating because thier dodgy systems say that you owe them money. I think this is disporportionate. I also hate the way that the banks have expoloited the poor, the sick, lone parents, the vulnerable to provide cheaper lending, free banking and big fat bonuses to the well off. There should be no need for us to go to all the trouble to claim back what is rightfully ours. Banks should be made to seek us out and refund us with interest. Bank charges are political matter because they effect so many people. Why hasn't the government intervened already???
  2. Speaking from my expereince gained in a previous life as a rent recovery officer, I would suggest you compile a summary list of all communications, letters and actions and include this along with the particulars of the claim, letters statements, your spreadsheets itemising the charges and interest to demonstrate to the court, that Nat West is messing around and that you have been very, very reasonable....and don't forget to add the court costs. A summary saves the court's time...I'm sure they'll thank you for it!
  3. I'm new to all this - I'm claiming £1700 back from Lloyds TSB with interest at 8% APR. I'm happy to go to court as a last resort because LLoyds TSB wouldn't hesitate to do the same to me.... In one month they took over £300 off me - I didn't feel that I could take the bank on by myself so I never really challenged the charges before. :-| I'm giving the bank 14 days to pay or I'll take them to court which I will if I have to. ...and I'll be claiming costs. I used the internet banking site to download my charges from 2002 but found that I couldn't apply formulas and formats to numbers and dates so I had cut and paste from the statements. Has anyone else had this problem? I dare say it'll be worth spending that Saturday morning number crunching when I get the money back...and if Lloyds TSB play up I'll go back the full 6 years and look for more interest. I just hope that the black horse doesn't turn out to be stubborn old donkey! I sent my first letter off on Monday and called today to ask if they has recieved it. I was told that all off these claims go to Birmingham and they will decide wether to offer 100%. 50% or to go to court with me. vbrep_register("620234")
