  1. I have been having problems with LloydsTSB over a credit card account which should now be closed. Last december my partner negotiated a final settlement ammount of 90% which we paid. In the new year I noticed I was still receiving statements through the post. I phoned them and was assured that the debt was settled and I shouls ignore the statements as it takes awhile for these things to get sorted out on the system. By early March I was receiving phone calls from the collections team in India. They were not interested that I have paid the debt so I called a UK representive the next day. Once again I was told that the debt is settled and they were very sorry. Again in early April we started being harassed by the call centre again, my partner threatened contacting the financial ombudsman. The following day we received a call from a UK rep appologising profusley, promising that the matter was closed and I would recieve no more calls. I asked for written confirmation from them that the debt was settled... Nothing received. On saturaday the calls have started again and I also find a Default Notice in the post. I call LLoyds but as it is a bank holiday weekend I can only get through to their overseas call centre. Can anyone advise me who I need to contact at Lloyds who has the authority to 'update' my account? Is it possible that LLoyds could change their mind on the settlement of 90%? With regards the Default I don't care about the fine as I owe them nothing anyway but will they muck me about removing it even though it should not have been issued in the first place? Any ideas to my problem would be most welcome... Thanks
  2. I was even charged last year for 2 d/d I'd already cancelled! I still don't get it. I called the bank about this but somehow it was justified
  3. During the worse time of Nat West charge sprees on my account I phoned them numerous occassions (on premium numbers we could not really afford), I even wrote them a letter at their request which was subsequently lost after hand delivering it at my local branch. I am aware though that most of the bank staff we talk to are just pawns and doing their job. I'd hate to work for a bank and their disgruntled customers at the moment
  4. I don't understand it really. I initially had someone from credit manangement tell me to order my statements through any branch (this was back in december). In February I ordered them through Taunton branch, paid the £5 and told it would be 2-3 weeks. Three weeks later I phone my old branch (Wellington) and the "system" was down she said she'd call me back. She didn't. The next day I went back into Taunton branch, they told me I should already have them and they couldn't tell me as the "system" was (still) down. My statements were re ordered. Weeks later I call Wellington branch, she tells me they were ready but sent to Credit Management, she was wrong. I have been going round in circles with Nat West. I really needed these statements for my Student Loan deferrment which was far more important than claiming back my charges. No one seems to give the same advice. I don't understand as my account details are the same whoever manages it! This is why I want to send a formal letter ideally straight to the horses mouth. Fed up with talking to them on the phone as they know what I need them for and they will just pretend to order them again making me wait another 3 weeks. Three times I have ordered statements. I'll probably just send it recorded delivery to my branch and keep my fingers crossed.
  5. Hi! I am new to forums but I am hoping that this site will help me with my battle with Nat West. They took over £1k in charges from me last year alone all because my (now ex) employer failed to sort out my maternity allowance. I have been trying to fight back on my own but feel as though I am just banging my head against a wall!!! Glad I found the site as I hope it will offer the information I need to get heard. Just one question (I've been in circles trying to find it). Where do I send the Data Protection Act 1998 Subject Access Request? Ordinarily I would send it to my branch but my account is no longer managed there but by Credit Management Services (Telford). I paid and ordered statements initially through my local branch on 6th February. By March 8th I phoned again to see if they knew where they were.... They told me my statements were sent to Credit Management and to give them a call. I was told my statements had not been ordered and the branch was wrong to do so:| they then re-ordered my statements. So do I send my letter to my original branch or to the Credit Management guys? I have had letters go missing before when faxed through branches to Credit Management and I see little point in sending a registered letter to my branch when it will lost from there. I called my local branch (as they are generally more helpful) and she told me to send it to them and it will be sent to another department from there. But I as my account is different and no longer at this branch will it matter? I just don't trust them and have already waited over 40 days for my statements and I need to get this letter sent asap! Please help! Phat Pest are taking the [edit] out of me:sad:
