  1. Got home Thursday evening and had a cheque in the post for £426 (not including research and preparation costs). Although I thought I might hold out for them, I went to court this morning and they didn't have me on their lists! Not sure what went wrong, but gave Sechiairi, Clark and Mitchell a call and agreed I would settle with the £426. Feeling very pleased with myself now.
  2. OK - Have the fax now. I have a Without Prejudice Confidential and Priviledged letter offering me settlement of the charges, interest and court fee (so everything but the research and preparation charges which I wasn't sure I could claim for). This might sound like a silly question - but how do I actually know they're going to send the cheque? Should I wait until I have actually received the cheque before I contact the courts? Or is this enough? I have faxed them back rejecting the offer and asking for research and preparation costs to be included - may as well, eh? Otherwise, I'm quite happy to go to court. I've also asked for the letter and cheque to be couriered to my work? Bear in mind my date with the courts is first thing this Friday morning!
  3. Just took a call from Sechaiairi, Clark and Mitchell. They want to settle in full! Yay! Just waiting for the letter with details to be faxed over.
  4. Hi, I'm happy to go ahead Friday. The paperwork is not that clear - all I have is a letter that says that there will be a Small Claims Hearing at 9.30 this Friday. It says: "the hearing is intended to give directions for the hearing of some or all of these cases in a way which saves time and expense". Does this mean it is just for Case Management. It doesn't actually say Case mnagement anywhere on the letter. Incidentally - I checked the mail at my old address. It has never arrived there!
  5. Hi all, Just phoned the Mercantile to find out what was happening with my case, and found out they posted my letter to my old address (despite being notified of the new address!). I'm in Court Friday at 9.30am. I'm just about to have a go at filling in the Case Information Sheet. I haven't heard anything from Sechiari, Clark and Mitchell (unless they've sent mail to my old address as well), so I'm assuming this will go ahead. In the meantime, I've left a message for Sechiari, Clark and Mitchell to say that I haven't heard anything from them, or received any letters since December. I'll complete the Case Management Information Sheet today and fax it to the courts tomorrow (I want to wait one night so that I can check the post at my old address and let me know if there anything has been sent through from them). What else do I need to do? As you can imagine, I'm a little panicky! What paperwork will I need to bring to the Hearing on Friday??? It is a Small Claims Hearing ... can I claim costs of £9.25 p/hour preparation???
  6. Could you tell us more about what you did? Did you write to the banks first? Did you use the standard letters on this site, or use your own?
