  3. I have received this letter back from LLOYDS: Ref: JB - 162940 Telephone: 01264725214 Facsimile : 01264832238 Thank you for getting in touch with us. I am sorry you are unhappy about your account charges. Like any business, we do make a charge for some of our extra services. When customers don't have enough in their accounts to cover a payment, this always means extra work - and it has to happen very quickly. We have to agree to make the payment by setting up or increasing an overdraft, or tell customers we can't agree it. We feel it's fair to charge for this service. Of course it's only fair too, that we're completely open about any charged-for services before you might need them. That's why we take care to give every new customer the latest guide to our charges.'You can also get up-to-date details about fees and borrowing rates at all our branches, through our helpline and on our website. Just as importantly, we do everything we can to help our customers avoid these charges. You can get an up-to-date balance at any of our cash machines, over the phone, on line and by weekly text to your mobile. If you know a payment is going to take you over your agreed limit, you're welcome to see if there's anything we can do. The Office of Fair Trading has published new guidelines on credit card default charges. We're still talking it through with them, but the important point is that the guidelines are about 'default' charges that people pay when they break an agreement with us. This doesn't apply to your charges as these were for dealing with your request to go over your agreed overdraft limit. They are not default charges because you haven't broken your agreement. They are our prices for the service we provide in these situations. I understand that you may also have some concerns about us sharing information about your relationship with us with the credit reference agencies we use. I'd like to reassure you that this does not apply to bank charges; we only share what is known as wtiite data, which is information about payments to your credit card, loan or mortgage accounts. I do hope you can see that we make our charging system as fair as possible - and why I can't agree to cancel your charges. If you have asked for copy statements and paid the fee, we'll send them to you within the 40 day limit set by the Data Protection Act. If you have not yet sent the £10 fee you will need to send it to us at the address below. The 40 day limit starts from when we receive your payment. Please quote the reference number shown above when you send your cheque to us. Statement Request Lloyds TSB Bank Plc Customer Service Recovery Centre Charlton Place (C25) Andover Hampshire SP10 1 RE I hope this fully answers the points you raised with us. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. If we cannot come to an agreement, I will provide you with details of the Financial Ombudsman Service so they can consider your complaint independently. If you are happy with the way I have dealt with your complaint, there is no need for you to reply to my letter. If I have not heard from you by the 26 July 2007 I will close my file, though of course I will re-open it should you come back at any point afterwards. Yours sincerely, Debbie Gilbert Team Manager Customer Service Recovery Centre Andover Basically what they are telling me here, is that they are perfectly well within their right to have charged me like they have (especially as one day I charged was £140 by them, therefore that made me go even further overdrawn & for a cheque to bounce!!! ) Is this standard procedure from them? If so, please advise on what do I do next. I have just about had it enough of people taking the **** etc, etc:-x
  4. I know I am probably sounding thick, but figures has never been a strong subject for me - unless of course it's the male figure!!! lol!!
  5. What I require I calculate that you have taken £1,840.00 plus £232.06 which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £2077.06 . I enclose a schedule of the charges which I am claiming with this letter. Shall I just delete this bit then?

Total £XXXXX . pls could someone tell me if the above highlited in blue is the calculated 8% interest or something else that I must add? I have calculated what they owe me, but I am not quite sure what I am supposed to beentering here.

  11. but was wondering do I claim for the 8% interest or do I leave that blank? (am about to start stage 2 of my war against lloyds!!!)
  12. must've done something wrong then, as it hasnt happened...... what might I have done wrong? any suggestions, pls.................
  13. :-? On the "simple" spreadsheet, where it says days since offence occured, I'm assuming I put in there the number of days that have passed since the charge occured? i.e charge occured on 06/04/07 - days since = 30 days, is this right?
  14. ALSO FOUND THIS REALLY USEFUL TO: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/25457-guide-reclaiming-bank-charges.html?garpg=6 (THANKS TO CHLOEJANE)
  15. Just thought I'd add a quick update, to this. I have received the list of charges back, currently in the process of transferring the charges to the spreadsheet ( has taken me a while to understand what I am supposed to be doing, but with a help from a few people on her - especially ChloeJane today - I have managed to understand it better!!) THANKS AGAIN. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/site-questions-suggestions/65568-simple-guide-reclaiming-bank-post734060.html#post734060 - FOUND THIS REALLY HELPFUL, WOULD DEFINATELY RECCOMMEND LOOKING AT THIS
  16. omg, this is sooooooooo confusing!!! I was never very good with figures lol!! I have got a list of my charges, I've looked at the "SIMPLE" spreadsheet, was just wondering, if there was a "sample spreadsheet that was already filled in" so that i would know what I am doing. (unless of course that is the "sample" & I am just too thick to understand as to how I enter my charges on to it..........
  17. this may sound thick now, but, how do I know whether the interest is general interest, or whether it's intereset incurred because of the charges?
  18. I have received copies of my statements from the bank. I have totalled up the charges & the interest, (Can I claim for the interest as well?) What's next? Or how to I progress to the next stage.......................
